There's beginning to be a lot of play on words these days. Now a 17-year-old is no longer a minor, unless of course YOU are a 19-year-old messing with a 17-year-old. Then all of the sudden 17 becomes a minor and YOU are a 19-year-old sexual offender. Who's putting the gray in-between the lines? A minor is a minor. It can't change depending on the day of the week or their stupid actions.

Can I see a show of hands for everyone that experimented with sex between these ages. Now can you imagine if we all were convicted of being sex offenders how our lives would be today.

I agree with you N4N. A minor is a minor. This whole thing is a double-standard that started a few years ago when district attorneys wanted to start trying 17-year-olds as adults due to the nature of their crimes. It is finally to the point that 17 is both an adult and a minor. Soon they'll be going after 16-year-olds, 15-year-olds, and lastly 14-year-olds. They will all be tried as adults for criminal behavior but they'll remain minors when they're victims. Go figure. This kind of double-standard is destined to backfire on society.

Well If he is 17 and the girl is like 9 or ten, then that is sexual abuse no matter what anybody says. So why can't we see a picture of this mayonaise face pervert.

Well Irish eyes, your eyes must be closed because if it were your daughter at the age of 13 and this creep was told to stay away from her numerous times knowing his intentions then maybe you wouldn't consider it harmless experimentation and non the less he is one month from being an adult!

Then maybe Drexel's boyfriend should be brought up on charges too. Afterall, he's 19 and she's 17 and they've been dating for two years, that would make him molesting a 15 year old at 17. My eyes are opened when it's realistic. Lets just condemn every teenager for sexual experimentation. If, however, this girl was forced against her own wishes, then by all means, create a lawsuit, but I know of too many young "ladies" who have led boys/men on and then cried "rape" later. By the way, I do have daughters and I had a younger sister. I fully intend to teach them about creeps and I fully intend to teach them about not being a C#$@ tease either.

How could a father (I assume father) intend to teach his daughters about creeps and then back up the sentance with teaching his daughters about not being a c*o*c*k tease???? What a terrible father. How about you teach you daughter a little bit more than that... maybe that's why1 out of 4 teen girls aged 14-17 have an STD.

Your last sentence was disgusting. No means No! It doesn't matter how far two people have gone, if one of them says no, then it is rape! Whether or not this girl consented or not, he broke the law by having sexual relations with her. Her consenting to the sexual relationship, although it may seem unfair to some, should mean nothing to the judicial system, as she is not legally old enough to consent. He is old enough to know the law, and he should have taken that into consideration before he had relations with her. Take responsibility for your actions.

I'm not talking about a girl who says "No" and then the boy doesn't stop. I'm talking about girls who have sex and then when mommy and daddy find out cry rape so they don't get in trouble. Being a female I've seen it too many times and it's not fair to the boys. I've also been jumped so I know the difference between experimentation and rape. The same goes for these girls who send nude text pictures of themselves. The boys get in trouble for having "child pornography" but nothing happens to the girl(s) who send it. Believe me, if this boy is/was harrassing this child, I'm all for punishing him.

Well if the 'creep' were in the rage of 11-15 then that makes it an entirely different story. When it comes to minors, there is always going to be a grey area. There are plenty of cases where the girl, say 13, is both more physically and mentally developed than, say a 15 year old.

The courts have to judge each case on a individual basis. To consider something rape, someone has to be taking advantage (physically or mentally) of another person, period.
