I know Mr. Pennington and have his whole life, I hope the investigation does not stop with Brian, I know because of his past convictions of some petty theft crimes, some bigger items, but he has never and would never hurt anyone, this is clearly a case where they have a guy who worked for this woman a couple of weeks earlier..maybe they need to investigate the husband and the crazy neighbor that is single man and very interested in this lady's business....so sorry for the woman, but police need to keep looking..they only have a young family man that made bad choices in his past, paid for them, and now is paying for his history...

Seems odd you know so much about here family situation and neighbor. Should we assume you got this information from Brian? Why was he out of state if he just did work for her a couple weeks ago? Is that his home?

concerned, you need to help your buddy and let the police know there's no way he could have done it. Also make sure you tell them about the husband and crazy neighbor. They shouldn't be able to get away with this. Call them right away before it's too late.

And the police did not answer the 911 call because they didn't think the woman had called. Who the hell called? Mamie Obamie?

And the media just give the police another pass.

You guys are a sorry excuse (along with the rest of the media in town) for a news organization.

Inquiring minds don't exist in this town.

I too know him and can only say that he never showed any signs of being a violent person during the time I was around him, but once the woman was able to, she identified him as the attacker. That is pretty solid. He left her for dead and did not expect her to be able to finger him as the assailant. He will have his day in court and the truth will come out. I hope and pray the woman makes a speedy recovery and can deal with the trauma in some way.

Witness/Victim, $1,000,000 bond, case closed... Don't waste your energy with the excuses and defense. He will cop a plea as soon as he can. He will get a hard 15 minimum in Jo.KS. Someone needs to take him out then. Cut his throat and leave him for dead.

Likely inside information. Sooo, what now for an opinion on the life long associate that has a woman claiming he cut their throat? Was he into drugs like prozac, percocet, ambian, etc? Pot, crack, meth? Penny for your thoughts.

What husband? She is reported to be a single mother. Crazy neighbor? You mean the concerned neighbor? Nice of you to try to pin this on others. If your friend, brother or whatever he is to you is so innocent, why was he running? And if you believe in him, you go ahead and post the 1,000,000$ bail and see how that works out for you.
As for him having a family, so did the animal who attacked Kelsey Smith.
It is an insult to the PVPD to think they would've arrested someone without having the evidence to back it up. This is clearly a case of someone who probably left his DNA on the victim and got caught.
Sorry that this person is your relative or friend. It must be hard to wrap your mind around the fact that anyone is capable of such senseless brutality, much less someone you have known since they were a child. It is apparent that he is going to need someone like you on his side. Other accounts from people who have known him are not so favorable.

I am as well a friend of the victim's son. This is horrible to hear, and I feel for my friend being so far away from his mother and not being able to be there for her. I do not know this man, but if she has fingered him to have done it, then it is up to the evidence to decide. I just hope justice is done in this case, and I feel very glad that she is okay and can begin to recover.
