We were eating at the local Bobs Evans when the ex mayor came in. He was sitting right across from us. Another customer came up to talk to him and asked how he was doing. He stated that he did not like retirement. He made the comment that the current mayor had done nothing. He said he had expected him to have at least done SOMETHING, but that he had done nothing. He said he may run again and also said " If i do run I hope that you will vote for me"
Citzens of Florissant prepare yourselves. LOL

Not likely. Our support went to the man who won. In 2015, our support will be repeated and he will win again. Bob needs to stay out of the way and enjoy his retirement and be glad that we did what we did for him politically when it was his time in the office. The torch has been passed on to someone new and now we support Tom and his crew of department appointees fully. Go Tom. We have your back and you have our backing.

Not so fast Union Backer, the club has always used the excuse – (once we have endorsed the first time we shall stay consistent) but that will change in the upcoming county executives election for starters. As for as the mayor tell me what he has done for us members who live in this town. I will tell you – he tried to support a low income housing development and was caught. Many of us in the club know that and don’t appreciate him using this city as a pawn in his personal vendettas against old rivals. You may think you speak for the entire club but I’m telling you you’re absolutely wrong. Club members who live and vote in this town will not vote for Tom.

Bob's done. Tom's our man. You might as well stay home on election day. Next topic.

Unions are nothing but antiquated and corrupt. It's time for them to fade away and especially get out of North County politics all together.

Schneider's due for a meltdown. He appears clueless because he is clueless. He has no actual education for a job in a position as mayor. No experience in city business even though he was a city councilman for over 30 years before ever considering a run for mayor. He's a hypocrite in his alleged support for the police department. He cannot speak in public even reading from notes his Andy writes and types up for him. He avoids media contact and interviews because he's a puppet of Richard Kellett and Kellett won't allow him to screw up and actually tell someone like Elliot Davis who actually runs city hall.

Lowery will play a key role in the 2015 election.
Make book on that.

WOW. You sound like a unhappy city employee.
Maybe you should move on and try and get a better job with the wages you are earning now.
No, this is not the mayor.
The mayor could have handled the Davis situation different.
However, nobody has been able to stand up to Davis.

the city council should make an effort to change the city charter and create the position for a city manager or a city administrator. The should eleminate the full time mayors position, because that position does not have a qualified person actually running things. cut mayors pay and let a full time qualified and educated city manager run Florissant, it would improve this city ten fold. too much low life politics

both Hazelwood and Ferguson have done very well with a professional running the business of the city, the mayor and council set the policy and leave the administration to a professional, both cities have outperformed florissant.

Unhappy with the current mayor, pretty simple solution.
Run for mayor yourself and find a candidate to support.
You don't change the form of government that has worked for many years because you want a change in leadership.
City managers are replaced almost as much as elected officials.
And don't kid yourself, politics are present with a city manager.

Seriously, FLOMO needs to seriously consider the idea of a city manager. One with experience helping a city with similar resources transition from older empty nesters and run down rentals to young employed money spending families--Locally see Maplewood as a good example.

NC Labor is a shell of its former self and is essentially a zombie organization--just hanging on. Sad but true. It has already lost its influence over the largest contract giver in the area, Hazelwood School District which is now focused like a laser trying to send its business to Minority Business Enterprises and has the national civil rights organization muscle to make that happen, damn the law.

My free advice to NCL is: 1. attempt to reinvent itself and support the city manager model; and 2. focus on the schools--not just to make sure contracts go to union contractors, but to make them safe for all kids and strong learning environments---by preparing candidates for the state appointed board that are coming.

The legislature is presenting local folks with an opportunity. A ball on a tee so to speak. If local folks just present more of the same, mainly urban student advocates with a proven record of failure and wasting cash, its possible the state board could retain control for many years, and end up merging HSD and FFSD into some colossal unified district with the other failed districts, with tight state control.

Rural legislators have been aghast for years at the cash given to urban schools and the dismal results while their schools are starved, and are pissed off big time.

Opportunity will be knocking very soon.

We need to start the "Anybody But Schneider Or Lowery Committee".
As bad as Lowery was, Schneider is actually worse.

It would be great is if an intelligent person who is somewhat emotionally well-adjusted could run and win.

Both Lowery and Schneider are lackluster intellects and both have personalities that scream "neurotic".

Blah blah blah. Tom's our man. We're in it for him to win it. And he will. Labor will see to that. Next topic.

Well I hear with the official investigation going on towards Dooley and today’s announcement of Clark backing out for consideration to the police board there are many other names surfacing in this investigation. Kellett Lowery Morgen Donahue Schneider Jones just to name a few. Apparently there has been many favorites appointed by Dooley with corruptive paths. This will make for a good evening movie. Something’s definitely going on and information is leaking out. A union announced today that they will not back Dooley.
