If Mayor Lowery was still in office he would not be afraid to tear down Long John Silver and Steak n Shake. I miss him.

someone owns that property and should have to take care of it. it's the same thing everywhere you go,as soon as the blacks start moving in everything goes down hill, vacant buildings and store fronts, trash on the streets. i don't know what the black vermin has against using trash cans opposed to just throwing their trash on the ground or out the car window, but then again their were bought up this way. just look at their house's.

meetings you would know the area is to be razed and is to be completely rebuilt. The reason for the hold up was the boundary dispute between Flo and STLC. The developer did not want to take final steps to begin the project until all that was settled.

But then, all you people are interested in really is moaning and groaning. Kudos to that as you all are doing a wonderful job!

meetings where it was discussed and I definitely remember it being noted that no new check cashing places would be licensed in Flo. And the ones that are already here will not have their business licenses renewed when they expire.

The only reason there are some now is because they are allowed by the county. When Flo annexed that area and others they had to let the check cashing places stay until their licenses expired.

One of the business that was interested in renting space was a gym/health spa, I don't remember which one but it was a national franchise. Another was a thing for little kids, like a craft shop or something like that. There were other interested business reps. but they didn't all speak up.

Anyway, there are plans to tear down the whole area except for the Phillips gas station and maybe Keeven's. Which Is fine with me, I like the guys at the gas station and Keeven is a great company to deal with.

Just read this old post. Yep, Florissant has businesses in that old National Strip Mall now and Long John's is now a Miami Grill. Other businesses went in that other strip mall on the hill across from the old Steak n Shake. Not the best business, but occupying space they are. Bedroom Store, Phillips 66, and Keeven are keeping it nice. I never see anyone in that furniture store at the old National. Place kinda creeps me out.

the couple of black bars that have been in the area need to go. nothing but crime and problem with the negros. these buildings are in shambles. i would rather see green space than another negro place. i wish they would do this to the old jamestown mall. we don't need any busniess that caters to blacks. all they will do is draw problems and crime.

I know there is some farmer that is using some of the space there around Jamestown. I agree, they should use it as green space and let the farmers use the land.

National Grocery Store area, now a weird furniture place. There was a black bar in there where the Dairy Queen use to be. It had a fire and never was opened again. Then the one near the old Steak-n-Shake and Long John's Silver, I think got closed as the music was loud and citizens did complain.

I hate black bears too. They leave garbage everywhere. They tear up your property and I've heard they even steal picnic baskets..
