So much for your constitutional rights,your local democratic reps want to seize your personal property amongst other liberties the feel you don't have a need for. This is just the first step in their plan to control citizens,as they decide what you need or don't. When this has no effect on crime,all your regular hunting weapons will come next,then knives, vehicles,bats,etc things they decide that you don't need will be targeted. This is the payoff you voted in to control all and line your pockets,as long as it doesn't effect what you want to do right.
HOUSE BILL NO. 545
INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVES ELLINGER (Sponsor), SCHUPP, MCNEIL AND WALTON GRAY (Co-sponsors)
To amend chapter 571, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the manufacture, import, possession, purchase, sale, or transfer of any assault weapon or large capacity magazine, with a penalty provision.

SEE FULL BILL
{description of weapons that includes the majority of weapons currently being sold to the public}

2. No person, corporation or other entity in the state of Missouri may manufacture, import, possess, purchase, sell, or transfer any assault weapon or large capacity magazine.
3. This prohibition shall not apply to:
(1) Any government officer, agent, or employee, member of the armed forces of the United States, or peace officer, to the extent that such person is otherwise authorized to acquire or possess an assault weapon or large capacity magazine, and does so while acting within the scope of his or her duties;
(2) The manufacture of an assault weapon or large capacity ammunition feeding device by a firearms manufacturer for the purpose of sale to any branch of the armed forces of the United States, or to a law enforcement agency in the state of Missouri for use by that agency or its employees, provided the manufacturer is properly licensed under federal and state laws; or
(3) The sale or transfer of an assault weapon or large capacity ammunition feeding device by a dealer that is properly licensed under federal, state, and local laws to any branch of the armed forces of the United States, or to a law enforcement agency in the state of Missouri for use by that agency or its employees for law enforcement purposes.
4. Any person who, prior to the effective date of this law, was legally in possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine shall have ninety days from such effective date to do any of the following without being subject to prosecution:
(1) Remove the assault weapon or large capacity magazine from the state of Missouri;
(2) Render the assault weapon permanently inoperable; or
(3) Surrender the assault weapon or large capacity magazine to the appropriate law enforcement agency for destruction, subject to specific agency regulations.
5. Unlawful manufacture, import, possession, purchase, sale, or transfer of an assault weapon or a large capacity magazine is a class C felony.

Rep. Ellinger & co-sponsors Schupp, McNeil & Walton Gray. You four are crazy.

Ludicrous! Take for example my trap shotgun. This gun is a 12 gauge over and under (double barreled) shot gun specifically designed to shoot clay pigeons. It fires only two shots - one from each barrel. Made for bird hunting and trap shooting. When fired the first barrel is discharged enabling the second barrel to "automatically" be enabled to fire the second shot. This rifle is designed to be absolutely ergonomic so that the stock fits perfectly into the shoulder-crouch of the competitor shooter - thus the stock is telescopic to insure that the gun "fits" the shooter. Since the gun has these features it would be outlawed under Missouri law: As a matter of fact it fails the Missouri test on two counts: It has both a "telescopic stock" and it is "semi-automatic!"

By the way, the Second Amendment was designed by our revolutionary founding fathers as a way of over-throwing a government deemed unjust by the citizenry.

Don't be fooled, they are trying to take your constitutional rights. Guns don't kill, any more than drunk drivers.
Treat the mentally ill and most of these whack jobs would be in institutions, instead of walking the streets.

"Democrat's are not gonna take your guns."
Nuts huh,It appears they certainly are trying to,try reading and watching their actions. The only thing I see stopping them is those bad ole republican's,with no help from those good union hunting buddies,who constantly vote as told to put them back in office so they can remain in control and fix nothing,but line their pockets in the short term.

Democrat,liberal,stupid ass,all one in the same. I try,I really do,to understand the mentality that drives these types. What the hell has happened to rational common sense thinking? If I were a hard working union guy,and most of them are,I would have to wonder why anyone would want to take what I earn and give a piece of it to these idiots who are in public office. These clown bastards want to stomp on everything you hard working union guys want in your life. They want your money,your vote,your loyalty etc,and in turn they want to screw over you,nice deal huh? How in the hell the voters can,in good conscience,go to the polls and re-elect these pukes blows my mind. You should NEVER vote for an incumbant,NEVER. This just makes these pukes think you condone their slick screw you way of doing things,and they get even worse. Ain't it great?

As long as our society is preoccupied with American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, and every statistic for the Cardinals, Rams, or Blues, we get what we deserve regarding the outcome of elections. Our elected representatives (on both sides of the aisle) take an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the constitution -- the very constitution that guarantees our rights. How many representatives, senators, judges, vice- presidents, or presidents do you think have read and understood the words in the constitution? How many citizens have? When was the last time our public schools taught civics class? Finally, remember that our constitution guarantees equal opportunity -- not equal outcome like they have in North Korea.

Apparently, the 4 who proposed this legislation are surprised that we are not subjugating ourselves to their benevolent enlightenment.

Threats are NEVER acceptable. Please keep the tone civil and dignified, but...PLEASE keep the pressure on these 4, to let them know that they are NOT royalty, and we are NOT their subjects.

Well as a union member, lifelong dem and a gun owner I'm flat appalled by HB545 and am doing everything I can to see it withdrawn before even seeing committee.
This is NOT what America is about and I'll be damned to let this lunatic type of legislation continue from either side.
One thing is certain, the four reps that sponsored this bill have just committed political suicide, will cause the dems more harm than imaginable, resulting in even more radical nutjobs from the fringe right to seek and win elections.
Like it or not democrats help protect our jobs, our unions, our wages, worker safety, our environment, our way of life!
The majority of dems are just as sickened as I over 545, unfortunately I'm afraid it's too late for redemption.
So everyone be sure to thank these reps for destroying the democratic party, trampling our liberties, guaranteeing civil unrest and gop control forever all so they could make headlines.

Long live the Constitution and the individual personal rights if affords us to even have this debate.
Hopefully, above all, Freedom and Liberty rises back to the top.
We can not let tragedy trump our rights.
