I don't know. I guess we should be thankful there is a nationwide ammo shortage.How do these damn kids keep getting guns? Why are guns so accessible in these kids environments? What are the parents up to that they leave firearms within children's reach?
You may recall that there was a rash of gun incidents in '09-'10 at Hazelwood Central. I have heard that Hazelwood East students now can only have clear or mesh backpacks because of the fear of weapons, so this is not a new issue for the HSD. I would assume FF is similarly aware.
Maybe there's some gang friction or re-alignment of pharmaceutical distribution territory going on here.
I know that the districts resist the metal detector at the door idea for various good reasons, but its standard procedure for the St Louis City Schools for good reason also. Maybe its time to revisit that idea.
