Why isn't Mary Paul in jail while she a weights sentencing? Why isn't she considered a flight risk since she left the scene of a felony? Why wasn't she taken from court in handcuffs like most other people waiting for sentencing after pleading guilty to a felony?

And still no court date for sentencing... Hmm

This whole case screams corruption. Not having to put up any bond what so ever after fleeing an accident that caused a death . Is there a better example of flight risk? Still no sentence date after two months. Soliciting sympathy by showing up to court in a wheel chair. Is it just me or did she look drugged up in court? Maybe prescription drug abuse... Too bad she fled we will never know by a blood or urine test her intoxication that day.... Bad eyesight yeah ok. This is a sad sad case of politics and injustice. I feel so sorry for the victims family having to be slapped in the face with such disrespect of catering to money and politics.

Her butt should have left her plea hearing in handcuffs and in the county jail until sentencing.

I am so disturbed that she only got 4 1/2 years is that what a death is worth? She will have to live with this the rest of her life and what about the other family? She will see birthdays, Christmas and all other holidays and his family will have none of that. I only hope that she never drives again.

Mary made mistakes. I feel her prison sentence will be miserable considering her health and her disability. I pray she gets the medical treatment for her remaining foot.

She will be prey in prison for all of the hardcore criminals who know of her since this was a high profile case I the news. They will not like the fact that she is from a extremely wealthy family and that she left Mr. Lennon in a ditch and just drove off and went about her day.

Is this woman finally locked up in a prison cell where she can not run down innocent people and leave them for dead in a ditch? I hope every day of her prison sentence is more miserable then the one before.

I heard that she will be eligible for early release in as early as six months. Is that possible ? She killed a person and just continued on like nothing happened.

I saw her on the news , she was in court asking for early release to get better treatment for her diabetes. If she is as remorseful as she claims she will do her remaining prison time to give Mr. Lennons family some peace of mind knowing she is being punished. After all she got off really easy for leaving him in a ditch to die.

I don't buy her claim that she could get better medical treatment for her diabetes if she were released. When she originally appeared in court she was confines to a wheel chair and had complications from diabetes that prevented her from walking and she appeared a lot heavier. In the recent video of her in court she appeared to have her weight under control and was able to walk using her prosthetic leg and appeared to be very balanced on it while being escorted out of court and while her hands were front cuffed wearing the waist chain. So it would appear her health and mobility has improved while in prison so the medical treatment must be adequate. I think she got off easy enough without early release. I do believe she is remorseful but still should serve all of her sentence.

This entire situation is terribly sad and heartbreaking, Mr. Lennon's life was ended way too soon and his family and friends live with only his memories and knowing he died alone on that road side due to Miss Paul not stopping to comfort and assist him. Miss Paul clearly has catastrophic health issues as a result of her diabetes and while not excusing her behavior I am sure her illness played some part in this tragedy, so seeing her in the courtroom handcuffed was very sad also. It must also be horrible to be in prison with her diabetes and being an am amputee. I has the misfortune of spending three days in jail once and I can tell you it is miserable without her emotional and medical issue. I pray that Mr. Lennons family gets the pease and closure they deserve and pray Miss Paul is able to lead a healthy productive life upon her release, with that said she should serve the remainder of her sentence in prison because she made a very bad choice in leaving the scene.

The justice system has let the Lennon family down. Katy should have done the entire prison sentence, more emphasis was given to her hardship of being incarcerated with diabetes then was given to leaving the scene of an accident and letting Mr. Lennon die in a ditch.

Early release on such a light sentence is a travesty of justice & very inconsiderate of Mr. Lennon's family and friends.

How did she ever get such a light sentence and then early release?
