FirstEnergy's.........

Net income fell to $263 million, or 85 cents a share, from $338 million, or $1.10, a year earlier, the Akron company said in a statement. Excluding one-time items, profit missed by 9 cents the average of 9 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg News. Sales rose 4.4 percent to $3.25 billion.

Yeah, enough is just never enough. They misspend what they make now. I'm so sick of being financially raped by all of these companies. It would be nice for the government to set caps - but they won't.

Is complying with federal and state environmental regulations (which are ever changing and growing increasingly severe) an example of "misspending?"

Is regular maintenance of the transmission and distribution systems an example of misspending?

What IS a real example of utility misspending? A credible source would be nice.
