Their mothers too I would think, but that is definitely another story. And some fathers, to judge from how many American men look these days. Anyone knowing the average weight of an adult female,American burger eater anno 2006 ? And : How much reduction in life expectancy
is there today for 14 yrs old compared to 14 yrs old in 1956?

I don't really think you should be judging on how people look. there are reasons as to why they may be overweight. they may have too much stress or they may be under pressurer.

I agree with all of you. I can't believe how fat some kids are, and yes, I agree that some of it may be due to stress. But I think it is completely the fault of the parents. Diet pills have never and will never work for anyone. You don't have to eat rabbit food, but it helps to get off your butt occasionally. How about standing up to your kids and saying "No, we're not going to McDonald's"? When I was a kid, and it wasn't that long ago, I sat at the table and ate what was given to me. A lot of times I didn't like it and sometimes I sat there for hours. I wasn't asked what I wanted for dinner. I didn't have a choice. My parents were the authority and I obeyed. Kids have too much freedom these days. Parents let them do, buy, eat, say whatever they want. How about NOT letting your underage kid watch R rated movies and play M rated games? The ratings are there for a reason, and it's not to ignore them. Maybe kids wouldn't be blowing each other away all the time. I think they should make birth control mandatory unless you can pass an IQ test and psychiatric assessment.

And Truth, maybe women wouldn't be so fat, loud and pushy if there weren't so many fat, lazy, beer guzzling, apathetic husbands. ;o)

They should take them - thes country is overrun with fat, loud, pushy women who have no idea what it means to have class or style. You wonder why the divorce rate is over 50%?
I've never heard of a pill giving anyone class or style.

it's hard being a teenage girl and feeling confident about yourself when all you ever see are girls that are stick skinny. people are harsh even if you're not over weight. i would'nt say i have an eating disorder because i don't think it's a disorder unless your skinny and think you're fat...if your fat and know your fat, then throwing up isn't like it's killing you...

Are you crazy!?! Of course it's killing you! It doesn't matter if you're skinny or fat, bulimia can cause anemia, gum disease, tooth decay, stomach ulcers, throat damage, dehydration, malnutrition, hair loss, muscle atrophy, insomnia, infertility, diabetes, osteoporosis, high/low blood pressure, seizures, throat cancer, and most importantly liver/heart/kidney failure, collapsed lungs, internal bleeding and stroke which will KILL YOU! It's much easier to exercise for a half hour a day! And I guarantee you'll look a hell of a lot better in the end!

I see a nurse for help. She used a form of acupuncture in my ear first. Now I have lost 113lbs (total) and I eat the protein bars from chocolaterave.com and cutting out the whites (white bread, white flour, white salt, white potatoes, white pasta, white rice). The protein bars make taste like a healthy chocolate treat. They have 10 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber and only 150 calories. The protein bars completely knock out my appetite. In fact, I was only getting in 2 bars a day because I wasn't hungry. My nurse told me that was not healthy, so I am trying to force myself to eat. But these things work that good! My husband is so proud of me because I won't need the gastric bypass now.
