i was aressted on a dui couple of years back , my wife was driving, she got dwls. since then it took the court inALPENA MI, 6 mos to give me a court date after repeated harrassment on my part for one! since then they never notified me until they decided to change the charge from a dui to a disorderly until after i had a warrant for failure to appear. never the less both charges have since been dismissed. my question is this my wife posted the original bond(third party) and since they changed the charge court dockett file number"seperate charges" can they transfer the bond she posted on my behalf to a totally seperate charge? and have it forfeited, keeping in mind both were thrown out because of the lack of intelligence on behalf of the police! can they do this? its like stealing with a badge!

Once you failed to show up for court the bond is automatically forfeited.
