Just saw the Oscoda Press article about Mr. Brady and his lawsuit...what is up with that?...Sounds like Christina Beardsley has made the news again...not surprising though...now we know why there have been so many Principals at the school...time for a new Superintendant...funny how she stays on and everyone else seems to just fade away...at least Mr. Brady isn't taking this lying down...good for him...

Wonder how many tax dollars this one will cost the kids? Can't afford dual enrollment classes for the kids because we need the money for attorney fees to defend our wonderful super. Art classes.....nope attorney fees Building trades needed here......nope attorney fees language classes.....nope attorney fees competent counselors...nope attorney fees etc! etc! etc!
Our motto "Kids First".....maybe not!!!!

You've got it in a nutshell...seems to me that Christina Beardsley always has her problems taken care of...but as far as the kids they just keep trudging along with the same ole same ole...such a shame...

In times of major cutbacks and downsizing it's easy to overlook the fact that there has been a major exodise of staff (teachers, administrators, aids, maintenance, etc.) along with the students - under a cloud of questionable practices. I think many of them would have still be around under a better climate - or left with better attitudes toward the district in general and one in specific.

Well, it seems to me that Oscoda schools get what it deserves. Year after year there is drama, legal fees, more drama, more teachers being abused, more drama, classes listed as required (BST), and then the business department is fired, science classes all of a sudden required and no one to teach them, other classes decided on at the last minute that are required - because some board member wants the class on and on - just like this run on sentence.

When are you all going to get a clue?

There is one and only one common denominator here and it is Christine Beardsley. And you all are stuck with it until 2014 unless someone on the board develops cahoonas and finds the sentence in the contract that says may be terminated once legal bills go over 200,000.00.

If for some reason you or I received an evaluation such as hers, and achieved the grade she did, we would be OTD in a hurry. And so we are entrusting her to guide the education of our children? Great!

No, Oscoda Schools isn't getting what it deserves, because Oscoda Schools is Oscoda and WE are Oscoda.

WE get it. WE are paying for it.WE deserve better than to be caught up in this trap.

Anyone running for the board a lawyer or an accountant? The only two positions open are those we don't want to replace.

Not enough people are getting it. Not by a long shot. I would hate to see the two running be off the board but they need help. And, I guess that I believe in Democracy and the ability to affect change too much to be quiet about this. Untill the community rises up, nothing will change in Oscoda schools. That is a tragedy.

OscodaDreamer is right...Oscoda deserves better.
I'm a true believer of karma..what goes around comes around. It doesn't always happen when we want it but eventually those who seek to destroy others for their own pleasure sooner or later are held accountable. When Christine first started her tenure here, there were many intelligent and hardworking people who stood up and said something wasn't right.....it fell on deaf ears. For what ever reason, she was backed by some influential people. Now is the time for Oscoda to say our tax dollars must go directly to the students; not to continue to pay for lawyers and court fees to defend the superintendent. It angers me that I pay money to help defend someone who I feel is destroying our town. Enough!!!! Students first!!!

Unfortunately Oscoda is getting what it deserves. If people refuse to get involved they end up with the lowest common denominator.

Cahoonas??

The two up for reelection are the only two that seem to have any and question anything the superintendent does.

I dont always agree with them but Im certainly glad they are there to ask questions.

The others just sit there like marionettes bobbing their heads in unison, yes your highness, and the president is like a ventriloquists dummy with Beardsleys hand up his a$$ while she is running the show.

I really thought we sent Falkenhagen, Close and Sweet in to shore up Parent and Hayman. It was very disappointing to see it go the other way as soon as Glennie was saved from the axe. What hold does she have?

Way Out..in the past people have gotten involved only to be "shot down". The school board supports her because they have to. Christine could come back and sue them if they didn't because of their stupidity of continually giving her satisfactory grades. This lawsuit may be the only way out for this school district.

This is rediculous. I think someone needs to re-write the by-laws before changes are made, so those elected will have to abide by them. Something like a limit on the time of positions held, unless voted otherwise. The President can only do a 2 term serve. Should be the same for Christine Beardsly. The rules that are in place right now are so ignorant when it comes to something like this. Why should our students have to suffer because of the way 'SHE' gets to stay? Anyone else with any scrupples or brains or self pride would voluntarily resign. Too bad!!

With a 5-2 board, you won't get any changes that will threaten her job.

With a 7-0 vote there is no chance anything will ever be questioned. At least now some issues are brought to light even if they don't change. We taxpayers get a better picture, because they are all going to be up for re-election at some time.
Maybe it's time for some of the board members to think for themselves instead of being bobble heads!!!!

So Mr. Brady is fired for "abandoning" his job.
And so it goes. How many people have been forced to leave. Anyone have an idea?

Oscodadreamer..here goes...I believe there have been at least 8 to 10 people who have been forced to leave, fired under the same shady circumstances as Mr. Brady or forced into retirement. That doesn't include the people who chose to leave because they realized the circumstances under which they needed to perform if they wanted to keep their job. And so it goes.

How does anyone really know if Mr. Brady or his attorney did not respond? Is it Christine's word against his? I know who I would trust! Also, the "resolution" stated that if Mr. Brady did not contact them within 7 days they would "consider" terminating his employment...it did not say they would terminate his employment. Of course he wouldn't abandon his staff, his students and his job. What idiot would think that a person with his diverse background (in the military no less) would abandon a career without just cause? Once again, only Betty and Mark question because the rest of the board has no thinking part of their anatomy or at least their not giving it the oxygen it needs to function. School board meetings are like a Stephen King flick....you just can't understand why the people don't run from the big scary thing until you realize it has some kind of power to suck the brains from the misguided. Then all heck breaks loose until the ending when you just shake your head because you just don't get it and it doesn't make sense; you just accept it because it's a Stephen King movie and they never make sense! And still the big scary thing continues on for the sequel.

So does anyone think the lawsuit will get anywhere?
And just when/how did Brady lose his status with CB. I thought he was a favorite.
