It never should have been considered in the first place. Too many times over the past couple of years, MNDOT tears up the majority of roads in a given area, making it holy double hockey sticks to get around. Better planning of construction would go a long ways to helping traffic get around.

Someone sneezed and cleared their brains. Who what the idiot who scheduled both bridges to closed at the same time?

If you two paid attention, the bridge in Stillwater was to be closed last month but flooding postponed the closure. Originally they were scheduled to be closed at two different times but with the postponement, the change made the schedules overlap. Now, it has been corrected.

I did pay attention, even this simpleton knows how to read a calendar. Too bad the overpaid talent at MNDOT can't.

Unless you want MnDOT to control the weather, Im not sure how one could be angry about this situation. If they would have kept the projects overlapped you would have complained. They changed the dates so they don't overlap and you complain. Additionally they weren't originally scheduled to overlap. It seems to me MnDOT has done everything that should have been done. So I see no need to be angry.

I say we close all bridges to WI forever. Cheeseheads drive like crap and ruin MN roads.
Keep your crappy red neck autos in your own state.

Old bridges being down for repairs and complicating life, commuting, and travel is another good reason for a new modern bridge across the St. Croix.

Now is time to build an artistic beautifully designed bridge across the St. Croix to eliminate hassles and expedite traffic.

Sooner or later the old bridges will catastrophically fail and what will you folks do then? Build the new bridge and preserve the natural area ambiance you want to enjoy.

Build the bridge and peace with prosperity will reign. Don't build the bridge and let the scenic river and area go to seed and be stagnant. It's your choice.

Never should have been even close, at least in my book.

When the two bridges take up most of the traffic in the north metro north of Hudson, even scheduling them a couple of weeks is too close.

It is just the way things are with MNDot.

Take Woodbury for instance. They had the roads torn um last year, fixing a bridge and working on the Vally Creek Bridge. This year, guess what? They are tearing up the SAME roads they did last year...and adding a lane.

Ppoor planning...

Nothing new.

Dear, "you are an idiot" We cheeseheads,(I am a transplant from the east coast) We know how to drive a little better over here. You MN drivers who coast at 45 in a 65 driving in the left lane are the ones who need to know how to drive. Your MN roads have off ramps and on ramps at the same place. You Mn drivers drive right onto the lane while entering the highway without yeilding to the guy who is already on the road and has the right of way. You in the Seirra Club are the ones blocking progress of building a new and needed bridge even though you cannot learn a lesson when a bridge in your state fell into a river killing people. Your hero a stupid political judge rules in favor of the Seirra Club weenies against the will of the majority of people. Your other hero Obammy claimed to create infustructure jobs as our way out of theese economic poor times yet you liberals don't want to build roads,,ohh the irony . Those are your union liberal buddies doing the road work slowing your drive while 6 guys in helmets sit around with clipboards making 45 an hour while one guy digs the hole making the project last two years when if they all worked it would take 2 days. Oh and BTW idiot, you need us in WI as you idiots need to come over to buy beer on Sundays.I say they should pay for this bridge by putting a tool booth up and charging MN drivers on Sunday for their beer runs. Great thing cry about the enviorment and yet force people to drive three times as far buring fuel. Obama today Earth Day burned what 9 thousand gallons of gas in OUR jet going to New York yet will regulate our thermostats. You Seirra CLub bozos need to wake up and stop being hypocrits.

A new bridge isn't needed for the Minnesotans beer runs my friend. If you people would stay on the farm over in WI and stop sneaking across the border to take our jobs every morning, the old lift bridge would serve us just fine. Be careful about suggesting a toll booth....It sounds like a GREAT idea.... On the west bound lane.

I knew there would be people whining on this topic. There are other bridges you can use in order to commute to MN and take our jobs and clutter our roadways. Two days and you act like this is the end of the world.
