I'm going to be moving to the Osceola area soon and am curious about the cut in few for water and power? Just called their office and was told the woman who knew wouldn't be back until next week so if anyone has any info it's greatly appreciated! Thanks!

There is no "cut". Osceola has the highest light bill you will find in a hundred mile radios. If you can avoid moving here, then don't. Move to an outside town, Keiser or Wilson, their light bills are normal.

If you know whats good for you dont move here. Light bills are awful. And just because ppl are putting this on here doesnt mean they are past due. Get a life, we are tired of city taking advantage of the citizens of osceola.!!!!!!!

Exactly. Please go elsewhere. This town is a sink hole. Once you get in, you can't afford to get out.

Ok the wave has hit our side of town. Saw a light bill from Mockingbird land for $1,100.00 and ours over on Johnson was 450.00... up $150... keep our air set on 80-82 an ALL CURTAINS, WINDOWS, AND DOORS CLOSED ALL THE TIME... HOME WELL INSULATED... WHEN IS THE RELIEF COMING????

It's not coming. It never will. During a meeting the mayor held around the beginning of the year, he clearly stated to us city employees that the bills would not be lowered, that they would remind the same if not continue to rise. He then stated during this meeting that we "couldn't have fancy light bills like Jonesboro", because we "needed to keep" things like the community center, etc.

Get use to it. The stunt he pulled a few weeks back about "looking into lowing the bills" was bullzhit, and nothing more than to get some heat off of him. The truth is in what he told us, his employees.

It's simple math. He wants to maintain a high payroll with an outrageously numbered city staff, all the while the population is dropping like flies. The more leave, the higher our bills will go to keep up with the up keep. The only way things will get better is if the people of Osceola wise up and vote this joke out of office.

Blah, Blah Blah. That is all I ever hear on this subject. No one is going to do a damn thing but pay the high light bills & enjoy living in this ghetto town!

I have to agree with ya. Empty houses everywhere and property tax going up on houses that are depreciating in value every minute! A word to the wise. Do not even contemplate buying a house here. You will be taxed to death on a home you will not be able to give away!
