Is it just me or is the new WalMart SHOCKING, literally? My family gets shocked extremely hard every single time we go in there! It hurts! Does anyone have ideas of how to make it stop? I've called corporate offices only to be told to call back another time. I don't want to drive to Blytheville but I can't keep getting the crap shocked out of me in there!

Tie a small metal chain around your leg, or to th back of your shoe and let it touch the ground, floor, and you will be grounded. But just remember, the same pumping gas, if you are not grounded, you may cause a nasty explosion while at the gas pumps, and you will be the center of the blast. So in other words its not just Wal-Mart!. It happens to me a Wal-Mart as well, I usualy touch the metal part of the basket to the metal shelf before picking up tin cans , that discharges me.

( No its the static electricity in your body. Thake the basket touch the corners of the shelves, you will see and hear a spark jump and you can safely pick up a tin product, if not just keep getting shocked, because it works, I have the same problem in many places. You are the one charged up, it don't happen to everyone all the time, its like walking on a carpet floor sometimes, my cat shocks me everytime he rolls around on the floor, but he has not learned the trick yet ( LOL ).

bull s*** reply. It will be better in the spring and summer. It is due to the static electricity due to the dehumidified air in the store.

It ain't gonna hurt a pacemaker, but if you want to fall out and look like an idiot, go ahead. Maybe you can make it on peopleofwalmart.com

I haven't been shocked, but I did notice a lot of employees wearing jackets or coats because of the store is so cold.

I thought it was just me but I've been getting shocked too! I usually get shocked at night.. I've never been shocked in the daytime for some reason.

I know that when it is cold and dry, you can build up a static charge. I know its cold in there but maybe if they add some moisture to the air this would stop. Just a thought.

I am in the new Walmart almost every day. I've never been shocked.(other than at the way some people dress when they go out In public! Haha!). I love the new Walmart! The staff is always helpful and friendly. The mangers all seem to care about what the comunity wants to see carried in the store. The store is clean and well stocked with more variety than I've found in some of the surrounding stores in other cities. I am glad for the new store opening! And I hate that the negative people in this comunity are finding so much fault in something that is good for our town!

Its simple, when pushing the carts, simply let the corner of your cart, touch the metal shelves, metal to metal, a spark will be heard and seen, it will not shock you holding the cart, once that happend pick up your canned goods, without the static shock
