I interested in a house in Lyndon, and I have noticed it is priced at far below market value. Before I even contact the real estate agent, can anyone tell please me if there is a "local legend" surrounding it that I should be aware of? Newspaper searches turn up nothing funny, but I thought I'd ask the neighbors.

The house is at the NW corner of 6th and Adams.

Feel free to email me if you aren't comfortable answering this question here. [email protected]

If that wasn't clear, the reason I ask is because I'm trying to figure out why it's so cheap. Appreciate any help!

Its haunted. Notice the trees and grass? They don't grow there.

What else can you tell me? I know one family lived there for a lot of years. The grass looked okay in the pics. Thank you.

Was there a murder? Who haunts it?

Knew the Gilliland family that lived there. Never heard anything about it being haunted. Will check with one the family members though and get back to ya.

Checked with the family...no history of haunts with them.

It is below market because the market is dropping. Being a home quite some distance from a real city, it would be harder to sell at current market price.

Also, houses aren't cheap because they are "haunted". In fact, to believe ghosts and such exist is a ridiculous notion considering the National Science Foundation is offering several million dollars as a reward for anybody who can prove the existence of ghosts. Seeing as how that money has never been claimed, any and all ghost stories are just people's imaginations running wild.

However, a murder or suicide in the home could decrease the value of a house to people who are affected by that sort of thing, but I haven't read anything of the sort on that property.

By the way, Josh, other houses in the area are below, but not at half of market value. I still think there's more to it than its distance from a real city. Regardless, I'm pursuing something else now. Thank you all for the info.
