This was my first time here on the lake and it was crazy. The only thing I like about it was they let you have your boat dock right on the water, where I come from you are not allowed floating docks. I don't know the answer to your problem that you have up here but beleave me there is a problem. If I had all the money that I could spend then I might could live on the lake cause then I would just buy me a bigger boat. But that's not the right answer either. I like what someone replied. If they can afford a 40ft boat then take it to the ocean. There again that all so wouldn't be the right answer. No mater what you come up with someone is not going to like it period.

A holiday weekend is not the time to put your small boat in the water. It's not as bad during the weekdays

Its not the boats, fish or idiots that will kill you there it is the e coli in the water. That's what they don't advertise !

Every body of water in the world has elevated e coli after it rains. Anyone who is relatively healthy and smart enough to keep their mouth shut while underwater will have no problems.

I refuse to take my 18' boat out on the lake of the ozarks, especially with my family. Its not just the lake that is bad though. Two weeks ago I was anchord out below the Bagnell dam and there were 2 Dumb asses on PWC doing figure 8's around myself and another boat. What are these people thinking? Pomme De Terre is probably the nicest lake i've been to since i've been stationed here in Missouri.

OK here the facts ... it is a very used lake when it comes to watersports. Safety and using a boat that fits the need. A 26ft boat is about the smallest pleasure boat to be reasonably safe. Jet ski users are a danger and over a 100 a weekend are being rented to those that have no training or expierence. = a lot of accidents.. It is a BIG lake and yes you really have to be a proactive captain regardless of the vessel your on. The largest non-commercial boat at the lake is 68 Ft,there maybe a 4-5 60ft SeaRays and a 200 54-38 ft cruisers/houseboats,the houseboats mainly stay docked and the cruisers cruise. The most used / rough parts of the lake or from the 6 mile marker to about the 22 mile mile marker. If you plan your boating around those areas you can have a great fun smooth boating day.

There are also boats capable of doing 100 mph and have pilots with the balls to try it!!! I even heard a chase on the scanner AT NIGHT where a guy ran from Glaize bridge to up the Gravois arm and lost the water patrol! The last radar they had on him was 115!!!! Some of that run was WITHOUT LIGHTS on!!! You wouldn't even have seen him coming!!!

there have been several reports of people eaten alive by large catfish and gar at the lake. There is also some type of unidentifled fish or creature that has been known to grab people right out of their boats not to mention the family of man eater octupus that live in the arms of the large. Last week 2 water patrol officers were eaten alive while trying to herd a bunch parina's up the Gravois arm. Also as you cross the dam bridge notice the Tom Sayer that was pushed out of the lake by a killer whale. There have been reports of swamp man and mo mo up on Ivy Bend but nobody cares anyway they're all cannibals up there.

I heard that each 'no wake' buoy actually marks the burial at sea location for somebody. Most were just hauled 100 ft off the end of a dock and dumped in.

It's not the lake or the boats. It's the bartenders over serving the tourist. And then it's the idiot tourist that don't know how to operate what they have. It's also the tourist parents that don't educate there kids on how to operate what mommy and daddy bought them over the holidays. Your problem. Is the fucking tourist

To all of you who are posting about what a meth head idiot Gavin is, my husband's good friend was welding the bottom of sea walls in the Mississippi and had JUST been telling my husband about how he'd seen catfish that were bigger than him and many of the locals said the same thing.

Your husband's friend must be a pretty small guy as the world record catfish is less than five feet long. The current world record catfish is 57 inches and 143 pounds. A big fish but not bigger than most adults.

Every missing person on the lake has been found, one way or the other since I have been here for ten years. Please share some facts about those who haven't been found.

Step away from the meth or name one person whose body was never found. This should be fun!
