I am seriously considering relocating to the 'Burg. I am retired and enjoy history. From what I read it seems that those of you who live in Gettysburg are miserable. Why?

Move to Guyana where it's safer and there's all the free Kool Aid you can drink.

You get what you give. There are lots of gangs and pathetic locals in Gettysburg.

The local losers are desperately trying to hang on to any thread of pride that they have left.

Did they see the BCS? Of course they did.

Then you'd be reporting yourself because I'm you and 15 other "posters".

I asked a serious question looking for meaningful answers. If the citizens are as unhappy as most of these posts, there must be reasons. I am just looking for information, not childish humor. Sorry if I asked for too much.

Have you seen any post from locals saying they are unhappy? All of the post on this thread are from people outside the area, that for some reason are upset with the area, and the people who are fortunate enough to live here.

If you have read the other threads, you will find they are spreading all kinds of lies and exaggerations of a few truthful statements.

Although I would not say everyone in this area is happy with their station in life or living conditions, but I would imaging if you came to town and took a survey you would find that most would not live any other place.

I for one, have been offered positions in other locations, most offering much higher pay, but I love it here, and would not live anyplace else.

If you base your decision on the majority of posters here you're just as nutty as they are. There are 100s of forums other than Topix. Look around.

Glad to hear some positive comments. I certainly hope to someday have a Gettysburg address (no pun intended). Thanks for the input.

Gettysburg is a gang-ridden cesspool, there is SOOO much violent crime going on. Armed home invasions, robberies, shootings, stabbings, murders, you name it.

Just look at the news reports, people get set on fire, robbed, home invasions, gangs.... This town is sick. I hate this GD town, if I could get more than a pitcherful of pus for the POS property I own, I'd unload it.

These locals are all about pointing fingers and denying, and trying to impersonate people. That should tell you something about what the town is like.

You haven't seen Davenport's super secret law enforcement reports. I have. I'm him, and 17 other people on this forum. We are heroes. There's a cover up. Where's Spielberg? What about the Turkeys? Flex

I went to Gettysburg this summer, part of a Civil War battlefield trip. Also visited Antietam. The condition of the town was shocking, we were expecting a clean quiet small town. It is anything but that. I can't say that there were gangs, but we had our camper broken into and all of our food and clothes stolen. Our truck was broken into as well, the radio and dashboard were stolen yes I said dashboard!

When we went to file a report with the police, they basically rolled their eyes and said what do you want us to do about it? I get the impression that this happens all the time. We had to stay in a motel for two nights adding extra expense to our trip.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone to stay overnight. If anything just go for a day, there isn't that much to see around there anyway.

What tour group did you use? They're probably in cahoots with the sugar hill gang. Tell us so they can be avoided.
