UPDATED: CHAMBERSBURG -- Nine Chambersburg Area school board members were told that gay, lesbian and transgender teens are three times more likely to kill themselves than their peers, and that the same students feel more disenfranchised and bullied than any other group.

There are many bullies and bigots our there who make it their life's mission to make sure that is the case for some gay kids.

Just like others make it their life's work to ensure that all kids have an equal chance at a good education and future.

Let the kids have their club. Without repentence They will die in their sins and go to hell for eternity. So let them have their season of fun now.

Wow, you are one sorely misinformed individual.

I suggest you educate yourself on what the Bible actually says and stop spouting this sort of vile hate speech.

So having a religiously based opinion calling homosexuality a sin is now hate speech? So much for freedom.

"So much for freedom"?

You have complete freedom to hold false, bigoted, and hateful opinions.

And I have complete freedom to condemn you for that.

You aren't the only one given freedom to express yourself. That freedom is alive and well - for both of us. Sorry that you don't like having your hate confronted.

BTW...
----------

Hate speech - is, outside the law, communication that vilifies a person or a group on the basis of one or more characteristics such as color, disability, ethnicity, gender, nationality, race, religion, and sexual orientation.

Sounds like a description the liberals have for christians. That would fall under the "religion" part of your definition.

Wow, your persecution complex is in full bloom, isn't it?

Listen friend - you can twist your scriptures all you like to validate your bigotry, but that doesn't make you a victim of prejudice yourself.

You're being criticized for your hateful behavior. That's all you. Don't try to pull God into it, because he's got nothing to do with it.

So quoting the apostle paul is hateful behavior? I can just imagine the church you attend.

Sweetie, if that is the version of God you really want to go with, that is your right, no matter how morally offensive it is to anyone else, but do you really have to flaunt your unfortunate lifestyle choices in front of children like this?

If you think you were quoting Paul then you have a sad misunderstanding of both what Paul was saying and what the GSA is.

The GSA is about providing a safe place for students regardless of sexual orientation and to make schools welcoming environments for everyone. It is about education, support, and fighting discrimination. It is about caring, friendship, support.

There is nothing - NOTHING - about that which Paul condemns.

Paul condemned abusive, uncontrolled, and exploitative sexual practices. He condemned violations of justice and the exploitation of weaker people.

You are distorting and misusing the words of Paul to advance your own prejudice. You are dishonestly appropriating the words of scripture to validate your personal bigotry.

The Apostle Paul never did what you are doing. Stop distorting scripture to support things that Paul never supported and to condemn things Paul never condemned.

There is right and wrong. For christians the bible is truth. Some will die in their sins and go to hell. Others will repent and trust christ and will go to heaven. For 6000 years homosexuality was known to be a sin based on the old and new testaments. Just because the past 40 years has seen as drastic movement in public opinion doesnt change the bible. Romans 1 is clear about the sin and consequences of those who are unrepentent homosexuals. If im a bigot for believing this way then ill accept the role since it is the bible.

I would be interested in knowing which bible college he graduated from. His understanding of scripture is totally foreign.

I can guarantee you that I have studied the Bible as much or more than the hateful person I'm debating with here.

He's promoting a hateful interpretation of scripture that's inconsistent with the God he says he worships. Why aren't you mocking him as a self-promoted scholar of the Bible?

The teachings of the Bible are not bigoted. But your interpretation of them surely is.

Romans 1: 26-27 - in context of a chapter talking about injustice, degrading passions and sexual obsessiveness, Paul forbids Christians from engaging in the abusive, unrestrained sexual practices of pagans. There's nothing here that intrinsically forbids same sex practices within a committed, loving relationship.

You read into scripture what you want to be there, not what Paul actually said. Your bigotry against homosexuals is just as Biblical as the defense of slavery is Biblical.

If you keep it in your home, no. If you speak out in public where people have the right NOT to listen to you and walk away, then no. If you spread it into schools or use it to harm gay folks, then yes.

You may have the freedom to say what you choose, but you do not have the freedom to infringe on the lives and rights of others. That's where the line is drawn.
