Ok one issue has seemed to work itself out. We are looking for a new principal. Just getting a new principal will not fix all of the issues this school is having. There was a survey done in 2010 stating that orrick school was a hostile and endless frustrating place to work. I do believe that if you take teaching as your profession you have to care about the lives of children because I do not believe there is alot of money in a teaching career. So I do believe that we have had some great and excellent teachers. But in this survey the teachers had the option to file. Many teachers have stated that there were issues that needed to be handled. Alot of harassment, disrespect, & hostility going on againist the teachers. These teachers believed that if they were to speak up about the problems the issues would only get worse. I know some of these teachers no longer work at this district and some of them do. I am not 100% certain that this information had been given to the school board but I am sure that it probably did. My question is why was this not addressed? My question is do some not all of our teachers still feel like they are beind subjected to work in these conditions now? It has been said that there are quite a few teachers that were either terminated or resigned this year. To me that states that there is still an issue. As citizens of Orrick and parents of the students do we really think this is a good enviroment for our children? If the teachers feel the hostility and disrespect. How do you think our children are feeling? We can not expect our children to not be hostile and be desrespectful look at what they are being taught! Kids pick up on those kinds of things. We need for the teachers that feel this way to speak up wether they are still employed at Orrick and the ones that have already been pushed out. I know that is a big step but how else can our children be helped. If enough people come forward then maybe we can make this stop. The next school board meeting is monday May 23rd. Maybe if enough people start standing behind our teachers they will feel more comfortable coming forward. The more people that come to the meetings the better. We need to let the adminstration and the board know that all we want is to help our children and there teachers. I do believe that there are still people in the adminstration and on the school board that do care about the school and the children.

All one has to do is read yesterdays Richmond News and the article about the school boards search for a new elementary principal. Linda Buchanan simply asked why we could not merge the high school and elementary school principal into one. It appears that she was immediatley shot down by everyone without any thought given to her question. We still have people on the board of education we need to vote out next election. They are so bull headed and set in their ways that they are not open to new suggestions, so the old problems keep circulating and never cured. The voters of this school district voiced their displeasure at the polls in April and yet none of the old board members get it. They are going to hold on to their beliefs as before. People are tired of the way things have been ran up there and are not going to take it anymore. Yes the teachers have been bullied and so have the students and it all goes right back to the supt and school board that allows it. I agree, one problem solved and several more to go. Wish North Kansas City was in need of a Supt. Too!!

I agree nearly 100% and have also noticed a change in he dnamics in the school board meeting since Linda Buchanan was elected. Here are a few things I do. Via Missouri Ethics Commission, no board member can vote, be present, or take part in any discussion that involves up to a 4th degree relative (including marriage) and that is exactly what Jason Lafferty did at the last board meeting. He defended his wifes sister and though he had to abstain from voting the school board minutes shows that Jason lafferty was in the room during the hiring process-against the law. I have also noticed Karen McGlothlin and Jason Lafferty speaking up a whole lot more which is great, except for the fact other board members have been under scrutiny the last month. I know what happened hear, it simply an issue of the board members telling others to speak up because people have figured out a select few run the entire show. Linda must feel intimidated, going up against these skilled politiicans". I wonder what u could find if you could get all correspondance between all board members and administrators and find clear evidence that the current board is so mad Linda is on the board becuase she fails to by in to this "social network" and of the so called powerfulled. I have for some of those board members, your time will come when u have to answer to all the things you have done or said I have heard so many people say, "Oh golly, so and so is a such a great person, they would never be capable of breaking rules, laws, or regulations." Bull shit, if you believe that you are a complete moron. There are so many reasons why the people why this board seemingly despises Linda, she represents and fights for the will of the majority (aka-election)and the average Orrick tax paying citizen.

The power hungry group web intricate web of lies, deciete, and sabatoge is coming unraveled-sure hope nothing criminal could be implied or cohearsed in this entire process, and yes-those wordy Ethics Commission conflicts of interest/nepotism laws may end up hanging a few.....Good Day-so called gentlemen and ladies....

Let me the one to define this term, "stirring up shit" . Stirring up shit would mean someone who talks about rumors and gossip with no proof of the truth(to hear themselves speak). On the other hand, someone who has proof of wrongdoings, deciete, and slander is a whistleblower. There are some people in this town who like living under the thumb of anothers money or family name. Maybe its fear, maybe its this misplaced sense of loyalty-I dont know...What do u think and where will u stand when push comes to shove?

I think this town needs to get to the bottom of all of the bs. Everyone that feels this way should go to the board meeting on monday 7:00pm. Lets stand behind Linda she is trying to help us and our children. This is not a one man fight!!!

I think people would be very surprised to hear what some of the so called board members are saying about people in this town. Read up on the sunshine law. I think you just might loose some respect for those so called people in charge. I know that I did.

Now I am interested. At first I chalked all this up for the same old Orrick piss and moan, gossiping bullshit. I would find it very interesting to see things in black and white. What do u mean about the Sunshine Law? What might I find and what proof is out there. I felt threatened at first when all this bs drama was taking place (bout the Tim Twyman thing since he is a good man) during the election but hey, if you have proof he cant be there or proof of any more wrong doing I would love to see it

I dont think the problem lies with where someone lives. Who cares. If you or anyone else are really intrested to knowing the facts about what is going on in the school district monday night at the board meeting would be a good place to be. You might be able to get in contact with some people that do have some facts in black and white.
