I am now standing up...
I am now applauding...
I am very proud of Oroville Police Dept.
I went to the Drs office today. everyone in that office was a sr. Several noted that they had worries about leaving home or answering the door late at night. One of them in fact had the doorbell go off at one am last night.
I know they will sleep well. Thank you again!!!

Try them as adults or I will try my best to get Ramsey replaced!! They cannot be fixed when they are screwed up enough to do what they did!!

Oh puleeeze...why would you NOT try them as adults? They will NEVER be productive citizens.Try them with a jury of senior citizens then send them to big boy prison where they can experience some of the abuse they brought upon their victim! This my folks is justice in its purest form.

These young men definitely need to be tried as adults. They are the perfect example of the very reason the exception to the separate juvenile system exists. Those responsible deserve life sentences and nothing less for this cruel and heinous crime.

Mr Battaglia was a nice quiet neighbor. He didn't deserve this. No one does!! We are all still in shock. People call these "kids" animals, I prefer to call them monsters, animals don't do these kinds of things to each other. We're all going to miss Mr. Battaglia, a sweet guy who always smiled and waved hello to everyone. I'm starting to believe "an eye for an eye" really applies here.
Rest in peace Mr. B

They are like a pack of dogs that got a taste of blood. The only thing to do now is put them down or they'll do it again.

Too bad they didn't try an armed home before this guy. This victim might still be alive, and they might be featured in next month's "Armed Citizen" section of American Rifleman.

Lets hope Ramsey goes after these guys with the same gusto as he did for that LP kid. It might be what he needs to get re-elected.

Let's also hope the cases are charged and prosecuted properly so the guilty parties don't walk.

I agree. Like the courts conviction and sentence of Greg Wright. It sent a strong message.

Frank was such an incredibly nice man. The very thought of what he must have went through at the hands of such animals is so sad and inhumane.

If you knew how pleasant a person Frank was, you would be deeply saddened that this wonderful man's life came to such a brutal end.

It is so beyond disturbing to know that there are young people in this community with such sadistic natures.

Your death saddens me so much. May you forever rest in peace, Frank.

Don't compare them too animals. What an insult to critters. These are sick 'Things' that are nothing but evil and maliciousness embodied. If it were me I would have them euthinized! This is un~freaking~believable! Anybody that wants to pollute the board with poor kid sob stories can bite me. These 'Things knew what they were doing and they did it intentionally with malace and with total lack of anything even close to resembling or associating with what it is to be a human being. Kill them and be done with it.

I grew up in Oroville with a brother and sister. We didn't get in trouble. We rode bikes, played frisbee, skate borded, went swimming, played cards, did our homework and helped our single mom with chores. We had no money. That poor kids don't have anything to do is nothing more than a pack of mule muffins and absolutely no excuse!

If Greg Wright's sentence was meant to send out a strong message, it apparently was not heard in this case...or it was heard and was just ignored. That is why "message" sentences are meaningless to anyone but the individuals that receive them. The only message that was "sent" by Greg Wright's sentence was that in Butte County we have a publicity seeking ego maniac for a DA. Greg Wright's sentence was, as it has been so aptly characterized, "draconian"!

It will be interesting to see, if any of these accused get anything close to 22 years in maximum confinement.

What COWARDS, if their convicted after "due process" they have nothing coming !Good that is ! Whats got into the teens of today ? I say all people should be allowed to have a GUN in their house for SELF PROTECTION,even if you'd made mistakes in the past! Some felonies shouldn't be classified as such, but this OBVIOUSLY IS A FELONY,and a serious one !Old people should be PROTECTED as with children !My prayers for this poor old victim !

AMEN Patriot. If a person(s) break into my house and try to harm me you can bet I'm going to shoot them and I don't care if they are 'Things' posing as kids, that is if my pit bull doesn't get them first.

My point is that the DA has a history of mischarging and/or overcharging defendants. Combine this with a poor presentation in court, and a jury might have to deliver an unexpected verdict, as they are bound to do in accordance with the law.

Hopefully, the guilty party(ies) in this case will not get off due to a technicality or shoddy casework. It has happened .
