I don't hate or resent the people who have the money to put out for a boat space rental. I am shocked at the amount they would PAY for it. This money could feed a lot of homeless people, is what I am thinking.
Good, go bust your buns and be successful, if you are not already successful and you are struggling, try harder or something different to embark on your mission to feed the homeless with your disposable income you will make, instead of suggesting what other people should do with their money. They will be grateful I am sure.

I called on my boat bill because I usually pay yearly to get the discount and the office told me that they were putting out monthly bills untill april (when they get evertything worked out) and then give the option of yearly paying with the pro-rate of the other months already paid.. So what is the problem???

What kind of stupid blind ignorance do you people reason with? For G*d sake just quit hating those that work and have more.... you may work and get less but so what? quit hateing the haves because you happen to choose to spend your $$$ unwisly. The haves pay so much more taxes that you can even imagine... oh no... you don't think they pay enough because they know how to invest and keep some $$$. Give it a rest... Losers!!! always crying "give me" "give me" give give give me....
By the way I raised my babies on Welfare, went to school and no longer have the NEED!!! Kids bring in over 6 figure saleries and they pay the taxes.... I know both ends, and whiners are losers....
Apparently you still have the hate in your heart and soul. Above poster said they DON'T hate anyone, just wondered why so much would be spent on having a boat in the water. Good Gawd, girl, get a grip and get over being on welfare for years. Who cares? And you are still whining!

The county doesn't get a cut, but they do get boat user tax. Not all the boats pay $1015...

County? lake is state owned. The county and oroville get nothing. Never have never will except the bcso boat cops.

and to fix your math

1015 x 900 boats = 913500 x 12 months = 10,962,000

Sorry, but your posting says 'I raised my children on Welfare' and to me that says it. I have nothing against people being on welfare at all. This economy is terrible! But for you to make comments to me like you did, even in your last posting, says what type of person you are. Sad for you.

Float Your Boat wrote:
Holy Cow!$12,000 a year just to float your boat? Hoooooo Boy. I would have to LIVE on it in order to be able to afford that. If you can afford to pay that much just for a space to put your boat, you don't need to be put out about anything.
to pay that much for a mooring fee means you have a boat over 60 feet long. A lot of these guys aren't rich though. They buy the boats, fix them up and turn around and sell them as quick as they can. One guy even buys boats from Kentucky for half the price and sells them here. Others actually live on the boats...but you're not supposed to

its plain and simple price gouging
oh my god no other reason than the sin of gread that a parking spot for a boat is more than the morgage on my house.
all boat owners should refuse to pay untill the rates drop to less than 4.00 per foot and even that is more than enough to maintain and and make a hell of a profit on a parking spot.people wake up and do the math.and tell these water barons no more.

we need a national boat owners union that is willing strike against all marinas for fair fees

my god how much does it cost for a walkway to a pier that holds a hundred boats? certainly not a quarter of a million dollars a year.

It is quite cheap from the insurance companies point of view. I could just imagined "what if" someones dog chased anther mans cat off the end of the pear. Who are you going to call then. OSHA, Local Law Enforcement, the fire department, CPS, Cal Fire, The city counsel, the Chamber of Commerce, How about the street sweeper you can always hear him on duty at 4:00 AM. They will always "be there for you", besides "its for the kids" right.
You just wait until Obama get into office, He and Opera will figure it out for you.
Anyway wasn't this all settled years ago?

Oh and if none of these ideas work for you, don't forget you can call "higher education" and someone from administration will be looking into it "for you" off course.
