Editorial: Hits and misses
To many who live in this area, Oroville Dam is just part of the quasi-natural setting.

The Oroville Dam is not a "natural setting“ nor should it be ever considered "natural". The promotion and glorification of building dams is ignorant and misleading. Dams are damaging the ecosystems and give absolutely no benefit in exchange for the permenate and long term harmful effects they all create. I strongly and righteously dissagree with this "hit". Clearly this one is a swing and a miss.

This dam blocked the natural flow of the Feather River creating a stagnat reservoir. People should not have been allowed to build on the flood plain. People should not have been allowed to build cities in the desert. Salmon and steelhead have been denied access to their centuries old spawning beds. This dam is ugly, both in appearance and for what it represents, greed. This monster is nothing to brag about.
