I am not one for home remedies but tried the following at the advice of my daughter. Surprisingly, it works and everyone can afford it! Once a day take a Q-tip, dip it in regular strength white vinegar, and then rub it across the bottom of the nail at the cuticle and then all over the top of the nail. I started this procedure last year and after three months my toe nail was almost completely cured. You can actually watch the new healthy nail grow out and clip off the dead nail. Then I fell ill and neglected to keep up with the process. The fungus came back. I am starting the process over and am already seeing the results. If you do this every day without fail I am told that after six months you will have a completely new healthy nail and the fungus will be gone. All it costs is your diligence, a bottle of white vinegar and Q-tips.

Sound like a plan...
I have kept it to a minimum by soaking my feet in apple cider vinegar a couple times a week. It also make my feet really soft almost like a pedicure at the same time. Your procedure is much easier and less of a hassle. I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for the Post.

This is a very helpful thread, especially for those people who are suffering from nail fungus. I have to admit; I am also suffering from this condition and to tell you frankly I am ashamed to wear sandals in public because of my unsightly, cracked and discolored nails. I'm having a hard time dealing with my nail fungus because I'm afraid to use oral products, thinking that they might worsen my condition. Just recently though, I came across a similar natural treatment for nail fungus called ZeroFungus and I started using it. I'm not disappointed with the result because I can see that my affected nails are improving. I also use herbal remedies along with ZeroFungus and I find that they are effective and safer to use to treat nail fungus. Hopefully, those stubborn nail fungus won't grow again because if that happens, I might be compelled to use laser treatment.

I had Laser Pointe done in March of 2011 in SA, TX. I followed the Dr's instructions precisly for cleaning shoes, hygiene etc. Yesterday had my 4 month follow-up. The nail bed is growing in white. In another 4 months, I am hoping that it is almost gone, if not entirely. This is not an overnight cure. You don't go in and come out and the toes are "cured". Be patient and follow Dr's instructions to the "T". No pedicures for me ever again in a retail setting, by the way.

FDA has approved Noveon! I want it so badly. Now, finding an office that will offer it appears to be the biggest struggle. From what I've read, it really does seem like the best treatment: http://www.noveonlaser.com/ Anyone know where in Los Angeles/Southern California this treatment is being offered?

Go to the "consumer" tag at the bottom of the site, which will direct you to doctors offering this procedure by state. It appears to be offered only in Davis, CA, right now.

I went to my doctor today to have the laser treatments. They use the Cutera Titan. She was supposed to do 500 pulses on each big toe and 250 on the other toes. I made it thru the first 140 on the big toe and told her to stop. Whoever said that this was a painless procedure is not telling the truth. It is extremely painful. She told me that she has had men in there who were grimacing with pain. Maybe I just have weird nails, but I could still feel the burning in my foot 5 hours later. Has anyone else had this experience?

The laser treatment does work! It is a great solution to the toenail fungus problem, and has a higher success rate than any home remedy. One patient said,ďFor more than 10 years Iíve been battling with a horrible toenail fungus. Iíve tried prescriptive drugs, tea tree oil, paint on liquids, you name it, Iíve tried it. Iíve had two laser treatments and am so excited to see healthy nail appearing and the hideous fungal infection finally growing out.ď

If is always best to speak with a podiatrist before making any decisions, but if you would like to read more testimonials, and find out more about the treatment, go to http://www.1toenailfungus.com/testimonials-to... .

Linda was right and I just did mine just 2 months ago at a Los Gatos clinic. And it was quite painful and was entirely done by a nurse instead of a doctor. And I'm not much progress yet. Will update later.

Curious how your nails are now - was it worthwhile? I'm considering having mine done as well.

I had all 10 toes done by the so-called state of the art Cool Touch laser in three separate sessions last June/July. It wasn't too painful. At first it looked like they may have started to clear. But by December, it wasn't really happening so I gave up applying the antifungal. Now, almost a year later, they are exactly as they were before I started. So now, I'm working on a combination food grade Hydrogen Peroxide and Thyme essential oil applied by my herbalist. We'll see if that does the trick. The laser, in my opinion, is too unreliable and probably has the best chance of succeeding with mild cases on a few toes. Otherwise, I don't think it works!

I tried the laser in 2009, no success. I'm trying again though, I've had two treatments with the GenesisPlus Laser. A lot different than 4 years ago! I think this one may just work. Nothing at all like when I had it done before. I have one more treatment to go. I see improvement.

I reported in May (see my post 5/24/13 from Cork, Ireland) that I've been applying a combination of Hydrogen Peroxide and Thyme essential oil (the HP followed by the Thyme was only initially applied once a week for 3-4 weeks, but afterwards the Thyme is applied once every 4-7 days until cleared). I am pleased to report it WORKS! I've begun to show substantial clearing on almost every toe after 3 months. The laser seems like a hit or miss proposition--mostly miss, but this combination of chemicals and herbs seems to be the ticket!
