Statewide ban on single-use plastic bags, fee for other bags proposed
State lawmakers announce a compromise bill that would ban single-use plastic bags and charge a fee for other bags throughout California.

The new proposal would exempt those on food stamps from the fee and would be phased in starting July 2015.
This bill follows the Lowenthal/Garcia gang model. That model is designed to impose harassment taxes on the minority of citizens who pay taxes while at the same time pandering to the voting majority whose "free food" is paid for with expensive taxpayer food stamps. In addition, the Lowenthal/Garcia gang acts to protect the high priced *(unionized)* grocers with what is in effect Government monopoly powers. This keeps any competitive minded grocer or grocery chain from "getting any funny ideas" by LAW! such as providing free grocery bags to the minority of Long Beachers who do not use taxpayer funded food stamps.
Recently, one of the Lowenthal gang failed in her effort to become city mayor. This is a step in the right direction, but unless the underlying problem is dealt with, voting the Lowenthal/Garcia gang out is merely an exercise in futility.
Long Beach is home to one of the most radical of California's entire incredibly expense taxpayer funded State university system. Vote one faction or radicals out, and this revolutionary system just trains more to take their place. These expensive Godless monuments are dedicated to radical 60s 70s era societal and economic revolution.
Let overtaxed Long Beachers fire the first shot in the long overdue battle for freedom. Let us close down the pernicious Government university that has gotten its tentacles into every aspect of the city. Then, the existing taxpayer owned campus can be used to train the children and the wealthy Government "professor" occupiers the skills needed to preform modern 21st century labor.
Funny thing about real democracy. Once "the people" get a whiff of it, It tends to spread.
