The court didn't fail they made him serve time and he has six years probation for this action. you should get all the facts before you post something like that again.

NO why would they discipline him he is retired from the Marines. What you don't think his career being riuned, a year in jail, and probation isn't enough. I think he got plenty of punishment for this wrongfully acused action.

wow all of you who think Gunny actually did this are clueless. i am a former FEMALE cadet and spend time with Gunny while he was helping me train for Navy boot camp. he never made a pass or acted in anyway inapropriate. anyone who actually knows Gunny would tell you the same. i was raped at 16 (same age as the "innocent" girl) ad i can tell you i have never seen Gunny angry until he found out. thanks to him and my boyfriend (now husband) i was able to work through it. i am proud to say that i am a friend of this great man. and FYI he pled no contest because he didn't want to put his wife or the girl through the hell of a trial.

THat is rude. Gunny will never give up his uniform or the Marines and he is not a disgrace to the uniform. Did you ever think that the girl camee on to him or maybe she was just lying about it. Think about the facts first before you start saying shit like that.
The girl just as much to blame but he is a grown man that made the choice and his choice was to sleep with an underage girl which is why this is considered statutory rape, if you are unsure of the meaning I suggest consulting a dictionary. If he didn't want it to happen he could have said NO! As a "Marine" he should have had the ability to control himself.

No obviously she isn't an adult. However, she decided to pretend to be an adult and jumped into her teacher's bed, but she is not an innocent victim. Wither or not she came on to him HE definitely needs to be held accountable for what he did. YOU missed my point entirely. Now I'm done discussing this with you.

Your an idiot. You know he didn't do it just because you knew him? The Police arrested him for it. The DA filed charges. He was found guilty in court. At any point in the process the slightest shred of doubt about his guilt by any party would have caused the charges to be dropped. I understand that you are still young and naive, but at some point you will grow up and realize that we don't always know people as well as we think. "Gunny" is a disgrace. What, do you think that he would brag about his actions? He would act in a way that it was obvious to his students that he was a criminal? Of course not. Obviously he didn't act in a way that would lead you to believe he was involved in criminal and disgusting behavior. He is a disgusting puke and he deserves more than he got for his actions.

Actually, he IS a criminal. He commited a crime, was caught by Police, charged by the DA, found guilty in court and scentenced. I challenge you to come up with a better argument than "Gunny is innocent because he was really nice to me!"

U know why he admitted to the crime I bet you dont know y. Your one of those people out there that are just quick to judge someone else based on what they are being accused of doing. I know who gunny is I had him as a teacher whenI was attending LP before is was wrongfully arrested for this crime that a young girl just trying to get attention because she probably wasn't getting any at home so she cries rape on a innocent teacher that would never put his hands on any of his students. He always thought of every NJROTC student that was in that class like one of his own kids. I know that he is innocent and will continue to argue my case with you if you wish to keep going.

<quoted text>Uh... 16 then, 17 now. And by your standards, if she had been fooling around with her 18 year-old prom date, he should go to prison and register too? You're out of your mind. Poor judgment, yes. Law-breaker? You bet. But prison and a lifetime pedophile record? No. The judge called this one right.
She was 15 when it started and 16 when it ended.....and I don't care if a girl climbs on a teacher's lap naked. He was in a position of authority and therefore is completely accountable for his actions!!

hmm, You seem to have a personal problem with yourself, don't you? Nobody knows yet what really happened. In most European countries, you're not a child when you're 16. According to law you're allowed to have sex with 104 years old men/women, when you're 16. So don't call him child rapist. If it was rape, he'll go to jail and he obviously was found not guilty of rape. btw some news about Polanski recently came out about some other 16 yr old after many years and he is getting way more flak than this guy in Butte:

I do actually know what happened, She was 15 when the actual intercourse started but what about what led up to that? He was an adult who was in a position of authority and it was 100% his responsibility to be the adult in the situation. This was a married man and veteran. It was absolutely inappropriate and he should be held accountable. He is able to walk away and yet she had to move away from everything that she knew and loved because the blame was placed on her. A 16 year old. How is that OK in anyway?

Im sorry to burst you "Gunny Bubble" but I am family with the victim and he most certainly did commit this crime. He admitted to it. I sat with the detectives from the special victims unit and saw the evidence. Whether or not you knew gunny does not change the fact that he did this. The police collected evidence and arrested him without the knowledge of the victim. She did not go to the police, they came to us. I know that he is guilty and would love for you to continue for you to argue your case. Sometimes people in this life will disappoint you and unfortunately for you this seems to be the case with you and gunny.
