I'm shocked. Normally, the male instructors get the harsh sentences, while the female teachers (depending on how hot they are) get a slap on the wrist.

Interesting.

As I am a fellow Staff NCO from the Marines, I find what he did completely unacceptable and unbecoming of what the Marines are about. I sure won't refer to you as a brother as i do with any other Marine. You are a disgrace to my uniform and you should give them up and stay away from them.

Head's Up: Next time tell your student what I tell my high school boys when they bring up the topic of teachers and students having sex together: That is inappropriate content for a student and teacher. Or try referring them to the school counselor. Another appropriate move might be to document the incident and report it to your supervisor.

I am appauled and sickened by this teacher's behavior. So does he keep his credential too? I sure hope not! How do we get Glusman off the bench? Does anyone know?

Totally disgusting and appalled that this judged would only grant probation and time served. Is it because of this person, doesn't deserve to be called a man, is or was in the military??? Is the Judge a good old boy style judge? Shame, shame on the judge, butte county should take another look at him. Sad that a "little girl" should take the blame for this, what do I tell my daughter if she ever came home and said a male teacher had made a pass at her, don't tell because you will get blamed??? He was suppose to be the adult, doens't matter if the girl initiated anything, he was who she looked up to and HE gets off with probation, her life will be changed forever. He better never teach again!

As a teacher myself, I find this very disturbing. "Semper Fi", Latin for always faithful. Where is your integrity, clout and professionalism? Did this man go through a teacher credential program? Did he prove competency or was he just let in because of his merits in the battlefield?

We have to start monitoring our students and children closer. This is proof that no matter what you think about the military, there are people like this everywhere. What kind of "man" feels the need to have intercourse with a young girl, who has entrusted in him to keep her safe.

To me this is not shocking at all, woman are twice as likely to be raped or sexually assaulted while in the military. While I know this incident did not happen while he was actively serving, it did happen while he was actively serving the community of Oroville.

I know I went through a very rigorous teaching credential program and passed multiple tests/exams. I wonder what this man went through to be in the classroom with our students? Probably nothing anywhere close to what non-military members have to do.

With a daughter attending a local high school in the school district he was teacher in, you can be assured that I will be contacting the OUHSD to make sure that this scum will not be allowed to teach in our Oroville area. I would suggest that anyone in other local school areas (Chico, Gridley, Yuba City, Paradise) make a call to their school district to make sure this Scum will not be employed. There was nothing stating that he was relieved of his teaching credential...scary thought!

A year in jail, 90 days in prison, a career ruined? Sounds to me like plenty of punishment for some consensual fun with a girl who's nearly an adult already. In other cultures she'd be married with kids by now. The judge was right exercise some moderation here.

Drunk drivers who kill families, rapists, and child molesters all get light sentences in Butte County but when Gregory Wright held kids hostage at gunpoint and let them all go he gets 22 years.

I cannot wait to get rid of Ramsey.

Did I read this right? Based on the fact that this guy is "a threat to the enemy" and that the teenager was "the initiator" the guy gets off? The guy admitted to having sex with a minor, while in a postition of authority! He doesn't even have to register as a sex offender.

Was this meant to encourage child molesters to join the military?

K,.. so can anyone clue me in as to why there were 2,923 reports of sexual assault in the military in 2008? Even more distrubing is according to Defense officials, of the 6.8 percent of women (that's one in every 15) and 1.8 percent of men who INDICATED they experienced unwanted sexual contact, the majority -- 79 percent of women and 78 percent of men -- chose not to report it. What's going on here?!? http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp...
