We know for a fact that Floyd Landis is a liar.
According to the story, the second teammate claimed Armstrong knew about and encouraged doping, that falls short of claiming Lance doped.
And just where do we draw the line between a "Performance Enhancing Drug" and a bowl of Wheaties?

The UCI is very specific about what is considered legal or not. They have a web site if you want to know the specifics.

What was legal then. I think alot of athletes used performance inhancing drugs for years and until recently it was not illegal from what I have read,,,, just the last few years... is that right.
But whatever. I think I do not like everyone squealling on each other. True or not true. It has become so ugly. Just everyone shut up. I use to like Floyd Landis but he has taken that like and turned it into dislike. Stop talking. Just allow it to go its way. And hopefully in the future the laws will be strict enough to keep folk from using. This years race was great great. I do find my self hoping both these boys are clean. I do not want to ever hear they were using something. The race was great. I do not even ride a bike but I watched everyday

I don't know what the big deal is. Let them all ride, no matter what. Do whatever it takes to win. This is a sign of a true hero.

I think this situation (one that is near and dear to me having spent a large part of my life in the sport) is similar to the children's story The Emperor's New Clothes. If you've never read it, it is worth the time even though it is a child's book.

Floyd is the kid in the audience that has come forth and said the Emperor is naked. We all knew the Emperor was naked but we were afraid to step forward and say anything. Although his timing was poor and motives questionable, what Floyd did took a tremendous amount of courage. I, for one, applaud him. I don't think it is going to change anything but I think people will realize that performance enhancing technology is a part of all sports and the more we ask of our athletes the more it is going to be used. You shouldn't hate Floyd. You may disagree, as I do, with the way he went about coming clean, but you can't fault him for watching his reputation get flushed while others that are doing the same thing or worse are being applauded. It's human nature.

I agree with you. How many people actually get to ride in the Tour? I respect all athletes...even Barry Bonds, Pete Rose and the rest. I'll even add Babe Ruth...good candy bar.
