Hi Monica, thank you for your comments of Botox for Painful legs and moving toes sydrome. I have
written to my Neuro and received a negative reply as he says it does not work. How can I get this Neuro to give it a try. I am in so much pain.

I have been getting Boxtox injections for 16 years and have been treated successful. It has allowed me to have a great life and be able to work. I been treated at Lankenau Hospital, Philadelphia, PA by Dr. Gollomp, a movement disorder neurologist. You must been seen by a movement disorder Neurologist. I hope that I have been helpful.

Hi Monica,
I live in Holland and there is no information about moving toes at all on Dutch sites.
I have the syndrome since one and a half year and I have felt very lonely in this syndrome because I cannot find anybody in Holland who has this.
This is the first time I read things from others who have moving toes / painful legs syndrome.
I am very happy for you that you have been succesfully treated with Botox and..........it gives me hope. Thanks a mille for your information. Can you walk normally after you are injected? Does botox stop the pain plus the movement of the toes? Are there side effects from Botox injections? Or is Botox rally a miraculous treatment? It is as like I read a message from heaven.
Thanks again.
Smile, Angela

Hi there!
Went to see my neuro yesterday and he is going to try Botox in my "Painful legs and moving toes Syndrome. At least he is going to try for me.
The lyrica and clonazapam and the pain patch which is Norspan do not seem to give me any relief.

will let you know what the outcome is.

Cheers,

Had Botox injections in my feet and it definately stopped the movement of the toes and also the pain.

However the injection in my left calve did not improve the pain or movement.

Going to Neuro next week for normal consultation.

Has anyone else tried the Botox Injections

Cheers

I had an appointment at the hospital yesterday to see if they could give me a botex injection to relieve the pain but could not have it because Im on such a high dose of claxane to thin the blood. but i was wonderering if it would have work

I also tried Botox injections, at the Mayo Clinic, on two occasions. It did not work for me, either. i have had the syndrome two years. Have tried Gabapentin and acupuncture. Those did not work, either.

Hello once again. I have had several injections for my Painful legs and moving toes syndrome.
By now I can say the movement has stabalised two toes and stopped the pain.
However, the pain and movement in my calves and under my feet is still as bad as ever. My Neuro has my taking Lyrica, Rivotril, Panadeine Forte, and Emla Cream.
The problem being, as I understand there are not many Drs know much about this complaint, so we are all on "trial and error".
Cheers

10th October, 2011

Had some small results from Botox in the little toes.
I did notice that when I had to walk some distance after the injections, I did not get any relief from the Botox. But when we drove to the Dr for the Botox, then the injections lasted approximately two months. I do not understand this. Perhaps one has to rest after the injections. To see my Neurologist is a 1080 Kilometer round trip.

Cheers
