Just discussing the Buckhorn with my co-workers. My mom was a waitress there for several years when I was a small child. We would walk there from our home 3 blocks away and visit her during her shift. She would have us sit at the bar and give us a soda to sip on. The owner had a few head of buffalo out back in a corral. We were only allowed to go see them with an adult along since there were a couple ornery ones. They had the BEST "broasted" chicken. And BBQ ribs.
My dad taught me to bowl in their bowling alley and they had great pin ball machines out in the entryway. Great memories of that landmark.

The Buckhorn was my default Birthday Restaurant when I was a kid. It was the only place I've ever had frog legs and they were great. I loved the arcade games in the other room and the famed picture
of Custer's Last stand.

I remember going there when I was kid. They truly had a huge collection of guns. When the place burned down, Long Lake was not the same.

I recently found a menu from the Buckhorn. New York Cut Top Sirloin for two $1.85. Served with french fries, salad, toast, beverage and dessert. Hamms beer on tap for 10c. I wonder what year that was?

I worked at the old Buckhorn in the early 1960s while I was a student at Orono high school. I started as dishwasher, busboy and occasionally as a waiter. I remember breading the onion rings until my fingers grew 3 times the size. Our customer favorites was the Chicken In The Rough and pizza burgers. I remember my buddy, Pete and I sticking ice cubes in the nostrils of the moose and deer heads mounted above the tables...drip, drip, drip as they melted over the customers!

Went there back in the mid 60's with my mom and her boyfriend. It was the 1st place that
I ever bowled. Ironically we moved to the area in the late 60's. My older brother worked at
the Buckhorn part time as a bartender. I remember coming home early the morning after the
fire and telling him he would need to find a different part time job. The "replacement" Buckhorn
was a dive....but I went there anyway. How about the Hanson House, Emma's and the
