It would have been nice to see this advertised BEFORE the event. Instead, it just looked like a giantic traffic jam with one lane closed in front of the chamber Tuesday afternoon.

A fitting and proper tribute to a little girl whose future was cut short by a contemptable madman.

Do you always have to see the glass half empty - seriously with all the positive in this story - the only thing you could think to post was that it jammed up traffic. Heck we live in Alamogordo it takes 5 minutes to travel from one side of town to the other - there is not that much traffic during that time of day on a weekday. I think this is a wonderful thing this person is doing! May God Bless her and give her the funds and energy needed to do what she does!!

No, I was complaining because perhaps...I actually wanted to GO see it. I think it's a beautiful thing this artist is doing.

I read an article on it the morning of the showing in the printed paper and saw it on their calendar in printed version.

There you go Barb - looks like there was a heads up on this. You were obviously somewhere nearby - because you said it created a traffic jam or something like - hope you made it - wish I had.

Husband drove by it on his way home from work.
I wish I had gone too.

This event had been printed in the morning news paper on the day of the event, was previously posted on their calander of events and if you had bothered to read it you would have known about it so could have attended if you wanted to.

The poster's point was that you prefer to complain about almost everything rather than find any good.

Then you had to argue back and forth instead of saying, oh wow, somehow I missed that.

I don't buy the daily snooze. It doesn't even work well to line bird cages with.

You said "It would have been nice to see this advertised BEFORE the event. Instead, it just looked like a giantic traffic jam with one lane closed in front of the chamber Tuesday afternoon."

A traffic jam you didn't even "see" with your own eyes because you later posted your husband saw it on his way home.

The event WAS advertised BEFORE the event. You seem to have no trouble being out here online with your comments, you could have seen it here or on the calander had you bothered to look it up ; ) Nuf Said? You seem to have LOTS of trouble saying OOPS, sorry folks, MY BAD. Try it sometime, goes MILES!!

So you DON'T buy it and are griping that you didn't know about the event beforehand? Oh, good grief! How does one make you happy?!

My husband's eyes are as good as mine. He drove through it, said it looked like a bike blessing with all the motorcycles there. And no, I don't buy the newspaper. It's a joke and not worth the paper it's printed on.

Look at the one raising the scene now. Take your damn meds geesh!

Why should I read the community events when they don't list everything in it? Do you see a star party listed for Saturday night? NO! But it was given to the paper a month in advance.

That you complained about this event not being advertised prior to the event, not some STAR event.

This event WAS in the newspaper, which is also available to you online and in the calander of events. You seem pretty willing to post out here on the ADN so if you don't buy the actual paper, the least you can do is read it online and see for yourself what's there or not befor you start complaining.

You didn't even see the "traffic jam", your husband did and you saw an opportunity to gripe, which is what you seem prone to do.

Give it a rest dear, you are getting tired and stale.

Maybe the point was, and it's a good one, is that all too often we only see articles like this after the fact. Reading about it in the calendar of events, and who reads it really since it's usually the same weekely events, would not give a good idea of what it is about.

Look at the article about the dog and coloring book signing at Hastings for Saturday. It's before the event and tells more about what and who than an item in the calendar of events would, and will most likely be better attended than it would have been without the article.

Funny, I saw the Buena Vista star party in the paper last week. Says it's on April 9. Checked the calendar, but that is only showing up to the 6th or so. From what I recall, that's a monthly event. I see it on the calendar all the time.

If there is another star party you are on about, do enlighten us.

Reading is fundamental after all.
