The only reason my family comes here is because I like to drive on the beach.
My wife doesn't and my kids don't care. I was raised coming here a couple of times a year. The family likes Panama City, adders ale and the keys just as much.
This week we will spend 4000, and the ocean walk is full of people like me.

I'll pay but 500% increase seems steep. Looks like your crooked politicians are wanting to screw this up for you.

They will blow all the millions raised plus some. Their friends and brother in laws will be able to contract something and drain off the extra $$$.

You will make me less likely to come here, but I bet your trash problem will always be here. Your way just gives them plenty of empty parking spaces at the motels that will go out of business.

Your comment doesn't make sense. If you don't want to pay the $30 that would be understandable. If you don't want to pay the $30 because it's obvious that government, is causing the problem, it would be wrong, not to take your side. The hard part is your willing to pay the $30 to complain about it when you know government will not change anything? You would have a point if there was a right, to drive on the beach, but it isn't!!

"This week we will spend 4000"

Yep I guess your just the "riff-raff" that this idiot Wagner wants to run off.

"They are day trippers. They're not over here spending time in the community and adding to the economy of the area."

Yea but I'll bet they buy plenty of 4-packs, and that'll keep S.R. Perrott happy, not to mention all the revenue from the Volusia County gas tax for them 'Day Trippers' to get the hell out of here!

heh.

There was a report on the radio. Members of the visitors authority went back and fouth about taking driving off the beach, even to go as far as to say, that it could cost bigger problems for revenue. The same person that said said contradicted themselves, by claiming he went into Orlando, and paid $17 for parking. If the city can charge that much then we should charge more for parking because it's on the beach it's can be found on Bernier in the audio program section.

The better majority of business on International Speedway Boulevard west of Nova is telling tourists, that they can have what they want.. on their way out of town!

I'm sure I don't make sense, I pay 5.00 a day now but won't pay 30.00 as a matter of principle.

I know your government is broke, cause all governments are broke. If you give them more money, they will still be broke but they will spend more of your money. Except this time they are spending my money. You might not be able to control your government, but I can control how much money I give your government.

Bottom line, I never met a tax increase I like.

The attitude among some people that live in Daytona Beach is that it doesn't matter, how many accidents or deaths occur as a result of driving on the beach, their issues deal with who the guilty person is. The government won't change anything, and some of the residents become angry victims.

Yea I wonder what kind of security the County has in place in the 'Money Count Room' for the Beach Toll collection.

Doubt it's anything like a Vegas Casino.

The tax dollars, that are supposed to be used to maintain the beach are not used to the full extent. Money used to pay the second highest tax rate in the state of Florida, is being redirected by the local government thru programs. The Echo Foundation, The Halifax Advertising Authority, Elite Management Floridian View Magazine Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach College, the Speedway, & Bike Events. The least suspicious would be Consolidated Tomoka, they own over 11000 acres of Volusia County.

The toll is cheap but to give the county more money in their already bloated beach budget is just wrong. Get the budget in line and make adjustments and get what we pay for and then maybe increase the toll a little and then earmark that increase for improvements such as restrooms . They should not be increasing the toll just because they are overspending on salaries, duplication, buildings we didn't need and new driving patterns and signage. Now if you have a car load of kids and the parks are full you can't park in front of the park ? extra enforcement and loss of revenue

After reports, of accidents that have led to lawsuits for the city of Daytona, it's still the second highest tax rate in the state, the distance that people can drive on the beach, is smaller, the toll hike rips people off because your taxes are supposed to pay for the use of the beach, and the lawsuits will result in what has proven to be an untrusted tax adjustment, because lawsuits will always raise taxes! That's not cheap. There are existing lawsuits that have nothing to do with beach. People that don't believe that are clueless- spammers that are nuts.

Charge $100, or $1000! It doesn't matter to me. I hate DB and won't visit anyway. What a POS that place is!

The people that you want to run off,[the day trippers] they are the ones that will contribute to the economy. If' you don't run them off. The people you have to worry about in Daytona Beach are the venders. It's a completely illegal operation that some locals support because it's tradition' it's good for business' it's this or that. Accidents occur regardless of who's fault it is it will keep regular visitors away along with other things. Wager Ramara Garrett & Theresa Doan have been ripping off the community for years. Pick your battles they keep money out, when vendors leave with money that should contribute. Blame them & the rest of the so called politicians.
