The fact is that the legislature passed a bill that would have held Entergy accountable. That bill was vetoed by Gov. Douglas and now, after the fact, he has concerns regarding Entergy's proposal to restructure and push its liability even further away. It's a shame that the Administration is so wedded to Entergy that it couldn't see the future, negative fiscal implications for Vermont taxpayers. Perhaps a new Administration can repair the situation.

They're only concerned about what happens to consumers before the next gubernatorial race. Of course this whole spin-off is designed to shift decommissioning costs from Entergy, which originally acknowledged its responsibility, to ratepayers and taxpayers.
It's time for fiscal conservatives to step up. This is millions of dollars that Entergy wants to come out of our taxes and electricity bills so that the money can go instead to Entergy shareholders. It's an alarm bell for residents.
