Hoopa man arraigned for murder

At his second arraignment in one week, a Hoopa man pleaded not guilty Monday to three new charges, including one charge of murder in connection with the death of 30-year-old Nicholas Montoya in Hoopa.

That isn't correct. I am Nick's mom and he called me every other day. He was treated "OK" but not an overwhelming - cookie type of entry..Please know that we, as Nick's family, now realize that Nick may have made a better choice of purchasing property..and yet he was the happiest that I had ever seen him in his 31 years of life..he truly believed that because he was part Indian that his life would be safe and beautiful.. I am still a believer that we can't catorized race, creed or color..one bad seed doesn't make a bad crop...we cry over Nick's demise everyday..he was so very loved and missed...he was a gentle - man and person..

Rod may be guilty of taking Nick's truck, that in no way makes him guilty of taking Nick's life!
