Albertsons hires teens who don't give a flip about service. Publix is employee owned and I find their employees more mature and service oriented. Albertson's items are often more, up to one or two dollars more for a single item. This varies by region I've noticed so maybe Cocoa has a cheap Albertsons staffed by caring workers but it would be the first I've seen.

Oh, and who irons anymore? Buy a steamer. It's ten times easier and more efficient.

I am a WESH watcher and am so tired of this rotating door they have with their newscasters. These new ones are horrible. They try to be funny and run out of things to say. Tom and Sally, Tony and Danielle were a great mix. Now even Gail is gone from the regular slot. TODAY is successful because you wake up with the same people everyday. Now, I never know who is going to show up on WESH. I really don't have any loyalty now in the morning because I don't really know any of them. Their humor is really bad.

because Winn Dixie is ghetto as hell. Publix is very arrogant and high priced. Albertson's for life!
Apparently you don't actually SHOP at Publix, or you would know you are seriously mistaken.

You must think Publix is arrogant because the employees are actually FRIENDLY and helpful. I guess that means they're arrogant. Not sure where you got your definition of arrogant from, but ok...whatever.

And Publix's prices are WAY lower than Albertsons. You don't need a club card like you do (or did? I may have heard that they were getting rid of those?) at Albertsons. Even Albertsons' sales are more expensive than Publix's regular prices.

"Do people who let others cover their bill because "she forgot her wallet" have the class to return with cash to pay for their meal? These kinds of stories — people taking from others without finding the means to pay them back at some point — tick me off."

They never so as long as the can get away with it. I used to "cover" this type but no more. Take cash and only confess to enough to cover your order. I'm willing to bet the "forgotten" wallet is discovered if washing dishes is the alternative. Usually only have to do it once to the same loser.

Even if this was the case, she could help him out a bit by dropping the shirts off at the cleaners or something. It can't be more than a couple bucks a shirt. Marriage is a partnership and the least she could do is help her husband out a bit instead of complaining...

Although I agree, service in one Publix may differ from another.

Not always...I used to think that but actually did a side by side comparison on some items and was surprised to learn Wal-Mart was higher...very disappointing.

Oh that drives me nuts, maybe it's a little nit pick of mine but I can't stand it when people use the wrong form of there, their, they're, or even to, too, and two.

I've found that WalMart usually has comparable or lower prices than other places.

I've also found I'm willing to spend more to go to Publix and not deal with WalMart.

Exactly, the parking alone at the Casselberry location is enough to send one into insantity. I will say though, the location in Sanford (go figure) is completely different, not bad at all.

Puhlease, it isn't a lower class issue it's a lower cost issue. Put your nose down for a minute and realize that we are headed towards tough economic times. I'd love to be able to wipe my *** with money, but I have to pay other bills and take care of my family. All you people who think shopping at wal-mart makes someone lower class will be laughing all the way to their self checkout when we do hit a recession.
