Why would they ever remake, Bye Bye Birdie.....and with George Costanza and Vanessa Williams?....Don't you see couples like that all the time?...lol...
I laughed when I read this~~
It makes about as much sense as pairing Steve Buscemi and Halle
Berry in a remake of Gone with the Wind...

I think it shows a lack of originality, among the studio heads in Hollywood....Hell, they just remade Carrie.....As for Halle Berry, well i am still waiting for Monster's Ball II......lol....

Intelligent, well acted movies do not make money, or so it
seems.
jmo~~that's why so many animation, silly love movies and fake
special effects are made in mass.
It appeals to kids and teens and that's where the money is.

Just saw "Slither" a few hours ago. A rather disgusting movie, lol. Creepy too, considering that a meteor containing an alien organism hits Earth. Grant should have never taken a walk that night. Horror and some comedy thrown in. If you can stand the gross factor, not a bad movie. At least I won't miss any sleep like I did with "The Human Centipede".

Not so much scary - But the voice saying " Fishy Fishy on a hook" has such amazing timbre - And in true Francis Ford Coppola movies- eerie and worth watching.. TCM doesn't show it too often tho..

LOL I have a voice fetish..

Dementia 13 (1963)...

When her husband John has a heart attack while out in a rowboat on the lake, Louise Haloran throws his body overboard and later tells the family that he has left on an urgent business trip....

Also let's not forget the original '10 Little Indians' nor the original 'Haunting of Hill House' Intriguing if no horror- and mercifully no screeching mind blasting specfex.

I didn't know she had a three year affair with Joe Kennedy.

Hey Maddy~~
I think someone bumped this thread up because of Halloween.
There's only so many horror movies we can talk about.
I don't see anything wrong with talking about movies
in general.
I love Hollywood trivia, such as the Swanson-Kennedy affair.

OT...Maddy & Ruby,

It piqued my interest with your discussion about Gloria Swanson and her affair with Joseph Kennedy, so I had to google it.

I had never read about Gloria Swanson...and found good info on her on Wikipedia. What a long and interesting life she lived, as well as six marriages. It covers her affair with Joseph Kennedy. He was quite the cad.

Gloria Swanson was Joe Kennedy Sr's mistress for a long time in the 1930s. They were both married to others.

HOT Diggety Dawg! I knew Big Daddy Joe got 25cents per bottle of Irish Whisky sold - BUT had no idea it made so much chump change enabling him to tread the light fantastic with Gloria.

The trollops of today cannot compare to the seductive talented vamps of yesteryear- Not only were they seductive BUT also had talent. LOL I can hardly imagine Gloria-Marlene- Clara Bo shimmying around a pole and going without their knickers to gain publicity.

Tho have to admit I wouldn't mind a quick peek at a publicity shot of TY Power going without his knickers.... OOPS Sorry don'know wqot got into me - slapping me cheeks muchly I be. But dam it was worth it for that quick peek.

Remember the remake of Sadie Thompson starring Rita Hayworth ??? Nothing compared to Gloria.

Was there a real Sadie I wonder upon whom this story was based upon?

Here's Sadie..
