I loved Niven -- thought he was the epitome of sophistication -- and read 'The Moon's a Balloon'. A long time ago.
I keep waiting for an old film by him and Marlon Brando...Bedtime Story.....Hilarious, about a two man highend grifter team, competing with eachother for the wealthy American girl.....it was remade by Steve Martin and it was good, but the original was a comedy classic....Many Niven and Brando fans should make it a must.....I keep praying TCM might show it.....

I was thinking about the man who was sucked into
the sinkhole in Florida, while his brother could
only stand by while it happened.
I know it's not a movie~~but it sure is a real life
horror story.

I watched "The Innocents" with Debra Kerr. I read Turn of the Screw by Henry James and it wasn't scary or an easy read. His descriptive terms, of course, were not uncommon but now seem superflous. The movie left me feeling that Kerr's character was either a nutcase or there realky was a case of possession. Anyway, after what I'd heard, I was disappointed.

House on Haunted Hill(Rifftrax) and the remake are both good movies.

Oh Lawdy Lawdy- After watching PHSYCHO I would not enter the shower in a hotel room without wearing me stab vest combined with me Metal Gauntlets and a Metal Bowl on me 'ead.

Chilling movie-'specially loved the Alfie H tricks whereupon the CHP officer appeared wearing his sunshades.

Yet another chiller from the Master Of The Macabre aka Afred Hitch....

LOL -Wont post the remainder of his surname lest I get a dreaded red warning from the Mod.

It wasn't a slasher movie, but a creepy, scary psychological movie..

I agree! That's one I was going to post here. The original Night of the Living Dead gave me nightmares!

The Window - 1949. This movie scared me as a kid. A little boy (Tommy), is always making up stories and one day he happens to be telling the truth, but no one will believe him. I love old black and white movies and this one was filmed in a run down neighborhood which I believe is in New York. No air conditioning in those days! You can watch it here free:
