Animal Services is 'railroading' me, pit bull's owner says

The owner of the pit bull that tangled with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer says he's being "railroaded" by animal-control officers because of the mayor's involvement in the case.

These can't be responsible pet owners. How could the dog be let lose to run free in a neighborhood to begin with?
This is how they attack people and other animals, get poisioned and hot by cars.
I AM A DOG LOVER with 3, all that have been rescued, however it looks like Spider-Man's time is up. The owners ought not be allowed to have any more dogs either.
Orange County Animal Services kills an average of 30 pets every day. Unfortunetly, most of the dogs are pit bulls or pit/mixed, and can not be adopted out.
We don't need another backyard breeder out there contributing to the problem.
$1,000 a pop? Please, get real. You can get the same dog from the pound for $45.

I live in downtown Orlando with my three Scottish terriers. We are rushed and charged by at 2-3 loose dogs a month. Of course my dogs fight back because the are leashed. I am afraid either my dogs will kill the loose dog or it will kill mine. I hope that they are "railroading" Spider Man's owner. I am sick of loose dogs.

We have one raising them in our neighborhood here in Seminole also. He works for School board and she works for Sheriffs office, which is no big deal about where they work. Its just his brother ships them here from Georgia.. Hmmmm Go figure. This cannot be good. We see by their actions here in the neighborhood it seems they are some bad apples that have strayed.

Thats why we have to hold the owners liable through the system and selfdefense in the neighborhood, Thats reality. When we hit them in their pockets as far as the animals concerned, They don't care. They will relocate and continue with some new ones. Let the others go to the grave, its not them!!!

Wow, since when is it a news story when one dog attacks another? Anybody see the bias? If anyone called up with a story about a golden retriever biting a cocker spaniel, they would probably laugh in your face. This story is a waste of time! The pit bull did not attack a human! I've walked 50 pit bulls at the local animal shelter and not one has been the least bit threatening to me.
There is no magical gene that leads pit bulls to attack more than other dogs. Also, there's a certain "breed" of people that are attracted to pit bulls in the first place....(Michael Vick......DMX....). Let's be honest, they're not the most responsible owners.

You obviously don't love dogs, nor do you know a thing about them. Try educating yourself for five minutes on the issue! Ask yourself how many pit bull attacks were recorded before this ridiculous stigma was attached to them! The first war dog was a pit bull. The dog in the little rascals was a pit bull. They were obviously trusted fifty years ago, when they were treated like companions and not accessories or weapons.

apparently this owner thinks nothing of his dog except the ability to breed, he is an idiot, he refuses to do anything that could get his dog out of jail and then wants to scream and cry that it's the mayors fault, quit whining like a 2 year old and do the things you have to do to get him out moron, the last thing we need is more dogs being bred that have a history of biting, and if you made so much money breeding him then use it to get him out he doesn't need to be bred you don't breed for bad characterictics [spelling] it will be your own fault when he is put to sleep

And for the individual who thinks this story is no big deal because a human was not attacked, please keep in mind that people own pets, and that these pets are like members of their family. Since pit bulls are genetically dog aggressive (and yes, they have done studies isolating aggressive genes - http://www.realpitbull.com/agg.html ) this issue is important to other dog owners, as well as livestock owners.

Showdog my arse.... what titles does this pit bull have? What registry? Dogfighters create fake registries and hold fake "shows" where they give each other ribbons, but really its just a front to maintain registries of fighting bloodlines, and arrange the breeding and selling of fighting dogs. "Red nose" pits are often from OFRN bloodlines, a fighting line. This guy is just another dirt-bag pit bull owner, who let his dog roam loose to terrorize a neighborhood. Now he's whining like a woman that there is a big conspiracy against him.

Dogs are not born to hurt. It is taught. I feel bad for the dog. It is not the dogs fault. I agree the owner does not have the dogs best interest at hand. The owner should not be allowed to breed any more. It is sad the dog will be put down. What other choice is there, as he has shown aggression. Though dogs are treated like family by their owners (my dog included), they are not treated as such by the law. When pit bull attacks against other dogs make the news, and other dog attacks do not, this creates the illusion that pit bulls are more violent than other dogs. It makes it more significant when a pit bull attacks another dog, than when a chow does. Though realpitbull.com (is this really an unbiased source?) claims that pit bulls may have an aggressive gene, I am sure it is not special to one breed. Since pit bulls are not recognized as a real breed, and most are just a mix of other "real" breeds, this gene must be present in other dogs. However, without the name brand, these other dogs are not used in fights, as guard dogs, or as part of the owner's image. They are treated differently, and their "aggressive gene" is never stimulated.

It is not the Pitbull or the AmStaff, Is the owner. I have a Staffie and my dog is the sweetest dog. My dog loves kids and other dogs. This is my second "Pitbull" like dog and I have never had a problem.
