If the facts are true against this woman, she should go to prison. However, I'm always amazed at the money illegals and immigrants find at their disposal.

Tell me about it. Where *do* they get the money? Likely not paying taxes on what they earn (the whole amount, anyway), claiming more dependents than they have, living way too many people to a household, etc. They should be held to the same standards as a citizen and if they don't hold up, they need to go home.

Most of these victims had legal status. The scam artist, as part of her con game, let them fall out of status - this way, they would be too scared to report her. Or so she thought! Many brought money from their own countries and invested here in the US and are paying taxes.

It is sad that legal immigrants are being scammed and little to nothing is being done yet illegal aliens are given help paid for with our tax dollars to avoid the law.

The article started out about some guy who did NOT have legal status (and neither did his family members) so how you can say "majority" is beyond me. Even if you hire an attorney, you MUST keep up with what's going on, and before hiring an attorney you don't know personally, you should check them out with the local "Bar" in your area (and I'm not talking about one that serves alcohol). To not do so is irresponsible on the part of the person doing the hiring.

Quote:
Bin Lin came to the United States in 1995 in search of a better life.

He lost his legal visa status several years ago, after trying to go to Canada. When he met Melissa Domato, he thought she could help him legally regain the proper status in the United States.

He said she promised to help him get a green card and that she could secure legal immigration status for dozens of his friends and family members too.

Lin began giving Domato payments ranging from $2,000 up to $15,000 for the work she was supposedly doing.

He said he paid her $60,000 of his own money but she took around $200,000 total from he and his family members.
End Quote

Now, tell me, where do these "poor" people who are doing jobs Americans won't do getting that kind of money? Hmmm??? That family is scamming the United States and her taxpayers. Karma is a b*tch, huh?

these people are good people who were tricked by a terrible person who was not sensible nor cared about the situation there were in illegal or not illegal... you are no one to judge as you have probably never been in a situation like that.... you should not be so judgemental, these people are looking for better opportunities that their country has failed to provide, there are only trying to support their families that probably live in poverty in 3rd world countries..... theres plenty of americans who live on unemployment and goverment help that prefer to live that lazy life than do the jobs that millions of immigrants do.... appreciate the life that you have been given and the position you were given in this world, not everyone has the same opportunities these peole are only trying to find a way to better their lifes.

LMAO! Sorry, but ignorance of the law is not a defense. Most of them KNEW they had to renew their papers and MANY didn't bother. Suddenly they wanted to become legal again. Too bad, so sad. They should've thought about that before.

Immigration is really good about telling you exactly what you need to file and when. All it requires is filling out a form. The fact that they let their "legality" expire is no one's fault but their own.

To hire an attorney you don't know and not bother checking the person out just speaks of ignorance and stupidity. We have enough homegrown ignorant, stupid people. We don't need to import more in the form of foreign nationals -- legal or illegal.

Ship them home!

Wanting a better life does not give anyone the right to break the law.

Many of these immigrants believed they were keeping to the laws and did have legal status but they were lied to by a cunning crook who saw these people as 'vulnerable targets' and confident they wouldn't go to the authorities when they learned they had been scammed and no longer had status.

Fortunately, the USA is a great country where everyone is protected and that is something to be proud of. Each of these immigrants will still have to follow the rules, just the same as everyone.

Its VERY easy for Traditional Americans to judge us Immigrants. As all are descendants from other countries, it was your parents/grandparents etc that went through a far simpler process & were lucky enough to have moved here before 911.

We are also victims of this awful woman. We were here for YEARS legally, paying thousands of dollars a year to attorneys for a visa that gave us permission to invest HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars into the US economy. Our children have either grown up here of were born here & we pay taxes, plus provide MANY JOBS!

An alien IS allowed to invest & provide Americans with jobs & that alone provides the income to pay the lawyers...... Our dream isnt to come here & cut grass, because thats what everyone seems to think! Alien=a job from an American!

NOPE, we have provided numerous families a stable income for years because we are here!!

SHE was a GREAT lair, befriended her clients so much so her children were friends with ours! & yes in hindsight, her knowledge & pretty staffed offices were not PROOF alone. But put all together she tricked us all!

The damage she has cause so many families is dreadful. We all had other options but typically lawyers are so cold & its all about recurring renewal $$. Because she offered a payment plan & promised she wouldn't keep us in that cycle of renewals $$ every year for the rest of the time we chose to stay, when it IS what many "upstanding" law firms do........

Thats why we chose her, because we came here to the USA to pursue a dream. With everything we'd ever saved & earned & dumped it into THIS country.

Is it really too much to ask to be allowed to stay without the constant cost of lawyers every year 15-20 years after coming here & allow our children to live the life we promised them. That's ALL....... The Dream act is for all types of people, don't judge us because you were lucky enough to have been born here.

If we go, so does $$ & MANY JOBS!

I'm sorry but I DO speak English..... The Queens in fact!

I LOVE how you judge this situation & say "ship them back" I hope you hire the people I employ because they will be out of a job. 1 they've had for many years happily!

I guess you'd agree that all beaten wives deserve what they get, or that rape victims were asking for it! I guess you've never been a "victim" or at least you seem to have no idea how that feels.

I'm SOOOO glad I invested everything we have, including MANY YEARS of our lives into a country that is not only filled with IDIOTS, but with compassionate, warm welcoming people that want a better world for our children.

I wonder how many generations of your family have lived here?? Would you even be here if they didn't want a better life for you.......

SOOOOOO judgmental!!! I really want to use use many 4 letter words in my reply........ So sad to see this is what you think!

Are you angry that someone took your "potential" lettuce picking position!?

Grow up, or at least remember that all Americans are descendants of immigrants. unless you are "TRUE AMERICAN" ie Native American (redneck don't count)

A legal immigrant can only submit taxes for the people given SS# so most immigrant children don't have SS# to claim for in the first place.

ILLEGAL'S probably don't file taxes because they fear they'll be found. So I guess keeping them illegal really helps bring in taxes?!?!

You say held to the "same standards" or go home. THIS IS HOME for so many children. They've NEVER known anywhere else, 10-20 years of being here & you want them deported to a place they have no idea about??

Heartless, & you are the "TYPICAL" racist redneck loud mouth, who's probably never left the town you grew up in. Drive a jacked up truck & drink beer too I bet??

Sucks to be judged......don't it!

Illegals don't file taxes because they are ILLEGAL. Their first act in MY country was to break the law. ROUND 'EM UP AND SHIP 'EM OUT and send their anchor babies with them. Let the little ones learn that their parents are lawbreaking pieces of garbage.
