Full story: Orlando Sentinel

Seventeen-year-olds will soon be able to buy the "morning after" emergency contraceptive without a doctor's prescription, after the Food and Drug Administration bowed to a federal judge's order Wednesday.

There should be NO minimum age for obtaining contraception. Kids can and do start having sex WAY before age 17, so why are they not allowed to purchase birth control before that age?
This is why I renounced my membership in the Republican party. I found it a sick irony that the party which champions "less government intrusion into personal lives" is okay with the government interfering in personal decisons regarding abortion, birth control, sexual preference, etc.

Plan B is in a similar class with abortion. That said, if there is little a parent can do to stop their daughter from obtaining an abortion, why the limits on Plan B??

Wait a second! I thought the abortion industry was all about staying out of our bedrooms? Why did they just invite the gov't into our daughters?

I smell a new sub-industry for Planned Parenthood. I wonder if they own stock in the company that makes it. I'm sure they have their hand in it somewhere - wherever there's a profit to be made with blood money - they're their.

I understand that there are a lot of democratic leaning activist judges, but it is my understanding that federal judge that ruled in this case was a Reagan appointee.

It is a great day in America when science trumps religion in relation to issues that affect ALL Americans, Christian or not. There is a seperation of church and state for a reason.

to bad you think that putting the responsibility on the parents and the teen is a bad thing. you want to have an underaged kid with an undeveloped brain to make a life and death situation is a shame. instead of praising a government intrusion into a family matter by eroding family responsibility then put your efforts in changing the age of minor into adulthood responsibilites for all things adult. maybe we should just go by theme park established adult age guidelines. a tidy little pill to cure all my ills.

don't worry. in a few years with our defense and intelligence gathering gutted we will all return to the dark ages for good. lets hope we can find some farm land without radioactive fallout. oh i forgot. a hand shake and a smile will forever change the heart of a person wanting to commit a foreign excersion from coming our way.

IF parents actually bothered to raise their children there would be no need for these. If there availability bothers you it is likely you didn't do a very good job of raising yours.
