I would like to point out that anytime we broadcast info about how to work the system, EVERYBODY takes notes. Let's be more selective about who we assist.

My friends are taking me out to lunch today at a Cuban restaurant for my birthday (which is next Tuesday but we're all free today). I moved to S. FL from central FL 3 years ago and I've definitely grown to love a lot of Latin food and I now put lime on everything. One of my good friends is Latina and we joke that she's really the blonde (she can be kind of ditzy) and I'm really the Latina.
Every time my parents drive through FL, they stop in Gainesville at least once to eat at the Swamp. I miss the cajun pasta dish that I used to get. And I'm pining for some El Indio. Did you ever eat at that dive?

El Indio... nope, can't say that I have. I wasn't into ethnic food in college though.:)

I think, because of the weather (it's an excuse that you can use wherever you are), I think we need to start happy hour.

It's stormy in Chicago. It's probably sunny in Florida.

Have bubble tea for Angelique -- what are the rest of you having?

As you make your way to the bar, watch your step. Stay off the gravesites, please.

It's this (actually there were two when I was there) walk-up/drive-through Mexican food 'restaurant'/shack. They have yummy, fresh-tasting food, but the salsa was probably my favorite. I'm getting hungry thinking about it even though I just ate lunch.

I'm hooked on margaritas, so I'll have one. I'll take the fanciest one you have since I've been having a lot of plain ones lately.

Margaritas it is! By the way, this sounds so good (found it on the 'net) I just might make them tonight.

Fresh orange juice or lime juice (optional)
Blue or purple decorator sugar crystals (optional)
3 cups ice
1/3 cup tequila
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1 (6-ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup orange liqueur
Preparation
Dip rims of margarita glasses in orange juice, and dip in sugar crystals to coat, if desired.

Process ice and next 5 ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve in prepared glasses.

Yay - that's right where I live. And my umbrella is in the car. GODDAMMIT!!! Well, at least it'll be a good night's sleep - I always sleep best when it's raining.

We're not SUPPOSED to get rain today but it hasn't stopped it any other day this week so I'm waiting. Hey Terri I'll take one of those and could you email me that so I'll have it at my other nesting place.

So much for the softball game tonight. We already have doubleheaders scheduled the next two weeks to make up for rainouts earlier. Maybe we should get some of the rich people to front the money so the park district can get a dome.
