Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Myth: Eggs raise your cholesterol. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, scientists linked blood cholesterol with heart disease and gave eggs a bad rap.

Best to just to cut out obvious junk (cola, candy bars, booze, cigs, Doritos, etc.), consume the rest in moderation, get adequate rest, and exercise. These health "experts" flip-flop more than John Kerry in 04. They've been doing the same thing for years with Butter vs. Margarine. They really don't know didly squat.

What kind of health tip is this. "At 213 milligrams of cholesterol, one egg slips under the AHA's recommendation of no more than 300 milligrams a day"
This is the worst advice you could give to anyone considering their cholesterol levels. Who eats just one egg and nothing else all day? Most likely your going to consume cholesterol in other food throughout the day adding to your per day total. Most people on average would consumer at least 2 eggs in a normally sitting. Putting you way over the recommended daily amount. Now do this 2-3 days per week and you're working towards heart disease. Eat a bowl of fruit in the morning, skip the eggs this Myth is true as the sky is blue.

Hey God you're not too sharp lately. Not sure if you heard the news about 15 years ago but there's something called HDL which is "good" cholesterol that actually seems to prevent heart disease by helping remove plaque in the arteries.(Sit down if you need to God)

The debate centers on whether eggs contribute to good cholesterol or bad cholesterol. My thinking is why not cut out "empty" sources of Cholesterol like bacon fat, and heavy cream. Eggs are nature's finest source of protein, high in the mineral Lutein and Vitamin E. Also, again, not looking to rock your world but there's also something called "egg whites" which have NO Cholesterol.

You should do more reading God. with all respect...

I have high triglycerides. Everything in moderation. I eat up to 3 a week. When making an omelet, I use 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites and add some chopped red onion, red bell pepper, spinach and spices. Just a bit of cheese gives it some extra flavor. A healthy diet, limit meat and dairy and grains or omit dairy and grains, reduce weight and exercise will help to lower your cholesterol. Eggs are a excellent source of nutrition and protein and B vitamins. My doc wants to put me on prescription drugs but I've had too many horrible side effects and one of them almost sent me to the ER. No thanks.
