If my children were school age now, I would home school them. These kids are evil from bad upbringing.

You kinda have to wonder how soon the "bad kids" will realize that in order to close down their schools for a day or two all they have to do is invoke the name of Columbine and random suggestions of violence: then, nearly as much as actually school shootings there will be a huge impact on how schools are run. We'll all be fearfully held in the evil clutches of seventh graders ...

That's right, let the irrational paranoia flow.

It's people like you that think nothing can happen to them. It doesn't matter what your little mind thinks, I would rather be safe than sorry. Have a safe day.

Why don't you ask the families of all the students that have been murdered, what there opinion is. You are living in La La Land.

Do you think homeschool kids are less prone to this kind of behavior? Think again.

Isn't that how they've been run since Columbine?

Of course, the alternative is to ignore the rumors & do nothing. What happens if the rumors turn out to be true?

It's a crazy world we're living in. And I agree, homeschoolers aren't immune. Unless you live in a bubble.

As a middle school teacher at another Volusia County school, I am not surprised. The lack of discipline is out of control. Teachers write referrals and the administrators do not support them. They are afraid of the parents. It isn't getting any better, only worse. We need a new Superintendent and new board members that know what they are doing.

Socially, we haven't seen anything yet.

There is a whole underclass of people growing up in this country that are products of dysfunctional families and endless, unsupervised hours in front of the boob tube.

They are broken. They have no fear (of teachers, parents, police officers) or respect for others.

They end up uneducated and may take a life.

They will, no doubt, also be in line, waiting for their government handouts.

We're in trouble. Personal responsibility and the sanctity for human life are, sadly, out of fashion.

wow. these kids have got the adults wrapped around their lying little fingers! don't these people know a cry for attention when they hear one? oh, and these kids need to start beating the crap out of the bullies...stick up for yourself! childless adults don't care about the plight of a middle schooler, so get over it.

It's a bad area of town.
Also, looks like the school heads are not managing their school effectively. They should be replaced.

What ever happened to,"I will meet you in the school yard at 3:00pm for a bare knuckles punch fest? Bloody nose, black eye, head hung in shame and a week latter the same two kids were playing a little B-ball together?

There is no value to human life any more and I hate to say it but it is all of our faults, the media, games, music, and life in general. There is no one thing to point a finger at,

It was that way when I was going to school in the 80's, You did what you were told. But we did things and got in trouble. Now days they do things and don't get into trouble. Look at the adults now days. The do something, go to jail and do the same thing. The goes in circles and no one learns. They get a free ride in jail, where we have to work and get the things they get for free. And don't get me started on what's going on over seas. We need that here.

I agree. Many of these kids have NO respect for parents, teachers or themselves for that matter. Parents allow them to run wild and there are no rules for them to follow.

We haven't seen the worst of it yet !!
