Wow, I hope people stop eating at this restaurant. I know I would. What a crappy thing for the restaurant owner to do, especially when his employee was a hero and helped catch a scum bag like that carjacker. I sure hope he finds a better job then this one. Sounds like this owner is a real class act.

What excuse did the employer give for firing someone that was helping a citizen. Boy, if that isn't a kick in the pants.

Some one hire this man! He's a Hero and deserves better. A curse on his former employer! I hope no one patronizes his business.

If he was talking to the police for an hour, that's fine but the media? Not so much.

What a miserable excuse for an employer..to wait until his shift is over and THEN fire him...
Somebody send in the kitchen police and shut this jerk down.

I work in the Auto Theft Unit for a local law enforcement agency. I APPLAUD Canales efforts to assist with the crime in progress - he should be commended rather than lose his job. Hopefully, the manager never needs the assistance of a well intentioned citizen!

What a pathetic excuse for a human being the owner is. I wouldnt eat in that restaurant now if you paid me. I hope this gets a ton of media attention more local to the restaurant.

I agree with the boycott. The owner is made for him saving a life what an idiot. I sure as hell wouldn't be caught in that restaurant. Boycott that dump.

Are you kidding? This man should have been praised for his kind and brave act. Patrons should stay away from this restaurant. People or owners like this who think and act this way should be in another business. What kind of boss is this?

If I were that guy's boss, I'd have given him the afternoon off and thanked him for being a good person. Especially to hear that he used to make poor decisions, but that now he is working hard to better himself, is very heart warming. Judging by the owner's name on record, he sounds like some dam* foreigner who only cares about his stupid Thai food restaurant and doesn't understand the good of what his employee did. What a jerk. Someone call the inspection people...I bet he has cockroaches in his kitchen.

thats pathetic, You would think a buisness owner would appreciate what that guy did, after all he would have got some great advertising, of coarse everyone will think he's a jack a** now ..... everyone should boycot that buisness ... and run him out of town

I wonder if the owner would have fired him if it was the owner's wife that had been in distress. This man deserves better, he is a hero. That restaurant should be boycotted. I wouldn't eat there.

there's got to be more to it then that. if not the owner is an idiot. you would think he would take the positive press and use it towards increasing business at the resturaunt. i know its cheesy to use this to increase business but...that's business. he needs to take advantage of this situation...instead of completely screwing it up...like he did.
