Give him 30 years so everyday he can ponder:

"If I had only followed the rules on at least my SECOND chance at being a contributing member of society, I wouldn't be sitting here and my little boy would be alive."

By the way, he is charged with Aggravated Manslaughter not
accidentally shooting and killing his young son. The latter evokes sympathy where none is warranted.

A convicted felon and then thrown back in jail for failing to pay child support, sounds like a prime example of a dead beat father.

I don't think Dontavious is a "rocket builder". If you know what mean.

You people are crazy! You sit and blog all day long throwing judgments against people... Granted he is a convicted felon that apparently stopped paying his child support... but what he also is, is a man that will have to live everyday of the rest of his life knowing that his son died at his careless hands, I think that alone is punishment enough. Even thou he will get 3-15 yrs in prison, the thought of what happened that day he will have to live with. There was definitely something’s surrounding this child’s death and this situation, but again this was about someone being careless and stupid! Not malicious... So with that being said, you people should go back and focus on Casey Anthony... someone who intentionally MURDERED her child!

I can't believe the guy was out on bond to begin with. I guess the death of a child is not that important.

How do you know? When this was reported the day after it happened the gun was a Taurus .357 revolver, unless he kept it with the hammer cocked (really stupid thing to do) it has a trigger pull of about 13 lbs. I don't believe for a minute that it was an accident. His first story was that he was asleep when the gun went off and woke him up, it sounds like he changed the story to something a little more plausable, but I still don't believe that the trigger could have been pulled accidentally.

Regardless it was totally his fault his son died and after being out on bail (which again I don't understand how a sc um bag, drug dealing, felon who shot his kid with a gun he broke more laws to even have would be let out) he didn't straighten up and do right. The charge should be first degree murder.

If he had followed the Strict Rules that he AGREED to upon release from prison, this would not have happened.
