So do I get to be the 1st poster?
I often wondered why they drafted Augie in the first place. No surprise here.

I would have loved to have seen that Headline say:
"Magic Waive, Trade or Buyout Redick", Ho hum.

At this time I'd like to let the non-knowledgable Magic fans in on a pretty good Pistons move. Dumars signed Kwame Brown @$4m. Guess what? That's another 7' big body to play "Hack a Howard"... good move by Dumars, but then every GM in the league save one, Otis Smith, know how to improve their teams.

I hope Augie goes to Europe and makes a splash. But then I also pray that Otis goes to Europe and becomes GM of the Serbia National Team, then hires VanGundy. Yayyyyy!

:)

Kwame Brown is a scrub. He's not worth paying $1 million for. I'm SO GLAD the Magic didn't sign him. For a former first round pick, he has to be one of the worst. Dude has no talent. Good to see that the Knicks are still over paying for crappy talent like that. They are going no where this year, while you'll see the Magic back in the playoffs.

Orlando Magic waives James Augustine.

The Orlando Magic is a thing made up of parts.

The Army does, instead of the Army do ... get it?

Don't get down on Otis yet. This looks like he is clearing cap room. You can bet a trade is imminent in the near future. By doing a sign and trade with Dooling, waiving Augustine, and the high liklihood of Evans signing with Atlanta this week, they have cleared some valuable cap room for a decent trade. Let's see how this plays out before we criticize.

Another draft pick wasted.....

I know he was a second-rounder, but for crying out loud, there ARE teams in the NBA that find value with their second-round picks. We just aren't one of them.

And Kwame Brown at 4 million is a waste of money. It is overspending that borders on criminal.(Not that the Magic aren't guilty of that as well - see Jameer Nelson)

Detroit was and is perfectly capable of beating the Magic without Kwame Brown.

unless the rookie 2 gaurd turns into a great shooting gaurd,i see this team as no title threat yet...they seem to be less talented than last year..

First, Brown went to Detroit. Second, any big body that you can sign is a good pick-up. Kwame Brown may not be an all-star type player, but in his best season, he avaraged 11p ts and 7 rebounds - which the Magic could use.
Please, I know we all have feelings about the Magic, but please refrain from making comments, especially when you have no knowledge of basketball, since we all know people like you were not very good athletes and were probably cut in high school.

Augustine is another example of Magic GM Smith inability to evaluate draft talent. In the 2006 second round of the draft, GM Smith took Augustine over Daniel Gibson and Paul Millsap. Another wasted draft pick by the Magic.

Wow you should post in the NBA forums where they are hoping this means a trade.

I see this as the Magic letting a player go who has found a team that wants him. Remember the Magic only tendered him a offer he actually wasn't on their roster so clearing cap space you make me laugh.
