Could it be that at any one time, Orlando likely has as many tourists as anyplace in the US? I've visited often, sister lives there and i still get lost everytime....International Drive?...What?....lol...

St. Pete is horrible when the snowbirds are here. Can take an hour just getting from one side to the other.

We have to remember down here, so many cities across the country are going through such rough times financially....I've lived in Florida most of my life, and one thing that makes this state tick, is the influx of money and snowbirds and tourists, every year. They are the factor that keeps our real estate golden, and our local economy's humming.....I think traffic is a small price to pay.....

You're right, of course. It's usually not what's going through my thoughts when I'm stuck behind some blue hair weaving between two lanes at 25 miles an hour.

Sad part is, that often down here they just drive right into the store.....hopefully nobody get's hurt.....It's their Last Drive(Sung to the melody of Donna Summer's, Last Dance)...lol....

Remember this: Those snowbirds to which you refer- When they are not visiting you for the four months that they are there- we have them for the other eight.

I'd 1,000 times rather be in California than Florida, especially Orlando and surrounding areas.

Orlando hosts 57 million visitors per year - that's more than anywhere else on EARTH.

Tons of them rent cars, and those that are not from this country drive like they do in THEIR country, usually not very well.

Weed out the foreigners in rented vehicles, and a good part of your problem goes away (other than helmet-less motorcyclists that have a death wish, weaving in and out of lanes on I-4, or young punks in their souped-up rice rockets driving like they're invincible).

Not all that many seniors that cause problems here -- most of them are busy clogging up the streets of Bradenton, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg.

All in all really not a bad traffic situation here, all things considered.

Had the city fathers listened to this guy named Disney back in the mid-60's, who let them know they needed to beef up their infrastructure system, we'd be a lot better off today.
