This ought to get the construction industry going again in S. FL...There will be plenty of people tearing out their granite and replacing it with a competitors product

If you're getting rid of your exotic granite counter tops please let me know and I'll have them removed for you... FREE!
Also, don't forget your fancy bathroom surfaces and sinks.

I was wondering why I could not leap tall buildings in a single bound, or be faster than a speeding bullet. It was the granite.
I will just cover them with lead paint and asbestos.

Don't worry about the radon emitting from granite countertops...the Chinese have poisoned us with toxic products for so many years that we're already doomed.

You guys are so funny. Glad I didn't jump on the bandwagon and buy granite.

Yes, this article was published weeks ago. How about a fresh spin and adding another side story that would be published about telling us idiot consumers the specific varieties that are known to test high. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My husband works for a kitchen design shop. He says there is a huge war between granite and Silestone type counter part distributors and each of them makes claims against the other to try to get you to buy their product. He says granite is not radioactive.

This story is very true. We have conducted extensive research on the issue. Granite is highly radioactive and we should start seeing massive sickness and death within the next 5-10 years. It is alarming.

It has become so serious that we are coming out of retirement and starting a granite removal business.

Some of the online Army-Navy type stores sell used Geiger counters from the cold war era fairly cheap. Might be a good investment if you're planning to invest thousands of dollars in granite counter/sink tops.

I bought a house with a decent looking tile countertop and was about to switch to granite. Now that I read this story, I think I'll save my money. I mean, granite looks nice and all, but what does it really do for you?? Nothing! I'm thinking I'll spend the money on a nice plasma TV or maybe even a PS3.

As for the lawyers, I'm no lawyer advocate, but I think this article takes an unfair shot at them. We haven't seen anything crazy from the lawyers, and I'm willing to bet the author did a search specifically for lawyers advertising this, which I'm sure are not many. Either way, if someone gets cancer from their countertop, then I hope they DO get a good lawyer because you know the granite industry is going to have their lawyers ready to bury them - literally.
