Good dogs, mine would've knocked everything on the floor in a hurry to get the nummies.

Someone on my FB list had this as their status.

"I died today. You got tired of me and took me to the shelter. They were overcrowded and I drew an unlucky number. I am in a black plastic bag in a landfill now. Some other puppy will get the barely used leash you left. My collar was dirty and too small, but the lady took it off before she sent me to the Rainbow Bridge . Would I still be at home if I hadnít chewed your shoe? I didnít know what it was, but it was leather, and it was on the floor. I was just playing. You forgot to get puppy toys. Would I still be at home if I had been housebroken? Rubbing my nose in what I did only made me ashamed that I had to go at all. There are books and obedience teachers that would have taught you how to teach me to go to the door. Would I still be at home if I hadnít brought fleas into the house? Without anti-flea medicine, I couldnít get them off of me after you left me in the yard for days. Would I still be at home if I hadnít barked? I was only saying,ďIím scared, Iím lonely, Iím here, Iím here! I want to be your best friend.Ē Would I still be at home if I had made you happy? Hitting me didnít make me learn how. Would I still be at home if you had taken the time to care for me and to teach manners to me? You didnít pay attention to me after the first week or so, but I spent all my time waiting for you to love me. I died today. Love, Your Puppy. Please forward this to everyone, its time to STOP ANIMAL ABUSE !!! Copy and paste if your against animal abuse"

Would make one think, especially if you knew the woman that posted this got rid of her dog last year as "it was too much trouble."

Sanka, did she really get rid of her dog? What a hypocrite! My Maddie has tons of chew toys and thought the leg of my bed was something to chew on. She had some problems with house training but we worked with her. People just don't get how much responsibility our pets are.

A guy is driving around the back woods of Montana and he
sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style house:

'Talking Dog For Sale 'He rings the bell and the owner appears
and tells him the dog is in the backyard.

The guy goes into the backyard and sees a nice looking Labrador
retriever sitting there.

'You talk?' he asks.

'Yep,' the Lab replies.

After the guy recovers from the shock of hearing a dog talk, he says
'So, what's your story?'
The Lab looks up and says,'Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young.. I wanted to help the government,
so I told the CIA. In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders,
because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping.'

'I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running...

But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job
at the airport to do some undercover security, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible
dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.'

'I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired.'

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.

'Ten dollars,' the guy says.

'Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?'

'Because he's a liar.

He's never been out of the yard'

I put the monthly anti flea crap on my pets today.
actually got it on my Grumpy Kitty without injury.
It's got to be a sign from God for a good week!

Correct?

OMG!

The woman I was complaining about in this post is talking on FB about getting a pit bull puppy.

She and her family couldn't deal with a minature schnauzer WHY, OH WHY does she think they can deal with a bigger, harder to train dog?
Its a mad mad world

Sanka, I can't believe that woman is talking about getting a pit bull. I can't believe she's talking about getting any dog for that matter. Hope you gave her your two cents.

Not even a year and I think they are going to get rid of it soon.

I've got to step away from these people before I give them more than two cents.

Sanks, I just seen this thread.

When we adopted our dog from the shelter, half of the kennels were pit bulls nobody wanted anymore. My soon-to-be-ex daughter-in-law has a pit bull, & I constantly worry about him attacking my little granddaughters.

I would never, ever have a pit. The risk is just not worth it. Why would a family with children take that chance?

They're not all bad dogs.
They just need better training.

My friend cannot accomplish this.

She and her family shouldn't have ANY dogs.

Has anyone ever made their own dog shampoo?

I saw a recipe of vinegar and antibacterial soap on the internet and wondered if it would be any good.

I'd be careful. Seems like this stuff could dry their skin out.

But they get so stinky in Winter, I thought the vinegar might help.

Regular dog shampoos don't seem to work against my dogs wet dog stank.

I use this stuff made by Paul Mitchell. It's an oatmeal conditioning spray and it really does work. It smells awesome. It's only $6.99 and lasts a long time. I grabbed it at Bed Bath and Beyond.
