Who wants a thread where there is not much arguing?
That word game is too frustrating with the Topix delay.

Let's discuss our pets here, furred, feathered or scaled.

I have too many.
3 dogs and 3 cats.
I need to stop now or will be on the news as a horder.
One dog is a pound rescue, one a stray that no one answered my found ad for and the last was a neighbors pen dog that was being neglected.
My daughter talked them out of him.
Lucky him, unlucky me.
My cats are, a lovely but haughty free cat from in front of Walmart.
"Mommy, look it's FREE!"
Ha!
Her fat lazy son, don't worry she is now spaded.
The newest is a feral kitten descended from a fromer neighbor moving and leaving their cat in the woods.
They domesticate quickly when they are young and you got the friskies.

Tell everyone about your pets.
Ones you have now and if you'd like to share, those that touched your lives and are now gone.

Ah! Now this is a nice subject.:) May I tell of my Mexican Mafia? They are 3 spoiled chihuahuas, momma and 2 daughters, now spaded.Squishy,if she were human, would definitely be a tomboy-she has no dignity or grace-just hellbent for fun and excitement.Cinnamon is an unusually calm chihuahua who is great with small children.ChaCha is a whiney crybaby, always 'Me,me,me!'.
Just like children, the minute I'm on the phone, they start.I have to 'Ah ah!' and point my finger at them.:)
I cook all of their meals, they eat what we do,with dog suppliments added.
They love to tree the squirrels that come into their yard..they actually bay!!

Homer----60 lbs of mellow wrinkly sharpei. Every neighborhood boy thought the dog had "saved" him. Loved to run. Never barked unless he meant it.

Hercules---(how did I get 2 dogs with Greek names?) 10 lbs of dancing prancing excited fan-tailed long-haired dachsund. Loves to bark and tease the cat. Small in size, large in spirit.

Socks----from a wild pound-find wiry squirrely kitten to a 14 lb. dark grey with white markings cool Tom cat who walks the night beat with his "buds".

They were all "fixed".

Suzie-one year old black Terrier from the pound into my new marriage for 17 years. Playful her whole life. Only ferocious once when a smarmy salesman was in my house.

One of our neighbors has a dachsund. Beautiful brown coat, like satin. She has a very expressive face, when she barks, looks so guilty.
"Ruf, ruf, sorry, don't know what came over me, ruf, ruf, oh my, don't know what's wrong today, can't seem to stop."

The other neighbor has a teacup chihuahua.
she will bark and carry on if you go visit them.
She's a real ankle biter.
The funny thing is, when they went on vacation once and I went over to care for her, she was all shy and scared.
Only brave when her mommy was around.

Just came back from a quick walk.
we've been having rain, got to run out while you can.

The dog we got from the neighbors was a pen dog and he has been difficult to house train.

He's finally, after over a year getting it.
Problem is that he is easily distracted.
He does this little back and forth, back and forth walk right before he poos.
Has to turn at least 8 to 10 times before he goes, if something catches his eye or ear, he stops what he is doing and we have to walk to a new place.

Love it when my cat talks like this.

Doesn't happen often, usually when she is waking up from a dream.
my daughter says she was dreaming about her kittens.

Two sites that I use to start my day and my prayers.

www.ihasahotdog.com - Dog lovers

www.icanhascheezburger.com - Cat lovers

This site is an excellent idea.

I have a mostly Siamese(either his mother or his father was indiscrete)male cat. Siamese cats are very, very talkative,a fact I didn't learn about until after I retired. He's very spoiled. He whines, cries or talks slmost constantly.

Tommy came to me about three years ago,he was seven at the time, from a lady who went into a nursing home and couldn't take him. It was several weeks after I had had to have my Calico put to sleep.

Callie had been my friends cat and when she got a dog it chased Callie all the time and scared her half to death. She was very shy,she didn't come out when friends were visiting.

Now Tommy is a whole different kind of cat,he thinks if the bell rings then people are here to see him.

As we all know:

Dogs have masters

Cats have have

Good for you and good for Tommy.
Bet his former owner was glad you were there for him.

It seems like it would be harder for a dog or cat that had been loved and taken good care of to lose their home and be left at the pound.
They look so bewildered and confused, waiting for their families to come back or come get them.

And that really makes me sad, that some people have to leave their pets.

Don't let this nice forum fall onto page two! There are too many forums on subjects that have people getting into heated debates!
This is a very nice subject that no one can cause upset over.
Who does'nt feel calmer when they think of their petloves?:)
Come on,let's hear about some more pet owners.

Right now, my mutt is passed out to the right of my feet snoring, the retriever is laying to the left, head up listening to kitchen activity, wondering if it worth his while to get up. The spaniel is licking his area.

The simple things make them so happy.

Ok here goes I am the proud mamma of 4 parrots, 4 cats and 3 pugs and 1 pekeapom. I am a pug and bulldog finatic. I have worked with animals all of my adult life. I love the bracecephalic breeds. I lost my Boxer, Deogee, Christmas Day. She was 13 years old and was paralyzed in her back legs for the last year of her life. Having my other dogs around was alot of comfort.

Do you ever see those commercials on tv asking for donations for The Humane Society and they play those sad songs and show those sad and lonely little faces and it just makes you cry.

I remember when Billy Graham was asked if dogs have souls and do they go to heaven. He said if you loved that dog here on earth and that dog was truly loved by you then yes, that dog will be there with you in Heaven. I hope there's alot of dog biscuits in heaven because I'm going to have alot of dogs waiting there for me. LOL
