I think one good cure would be to force them to wear bright pink grandma panties for 30 days or spend the 30 days in jail. They won't want to have those showing to anyone for the period of the sentence and let them know that the next sentence will be doubled in length each offense.

You DO sound like someone's grandmother. What pathetic rationalization that a style trend began in prision so should not be emulated! I think 'they' used something similar regarding pierced ears....

If the kids only knew what it meant in prison they might pull them up. It means you are available. Better pull them up fellas before a foreign object could be inserted.

Seriously do we not have enough problems with crime and then we add something as ridiculous. How is this going to be enforced? Who will be enforcing it? How much is it going to cost the taxpayers? This is just like that idiotic masks in public measure in Cocoa. Sending the police after people in halloween masks. I can see it now, when a normal crime occurs the police will be too busy writing tickets for baggy pants or halloween masks to respond. Way to overreact America

Why not spread a rumor in the hip community that anyone that looks older than a 12 year old with sagging pants is gay. It's a popularity thing anyway.

The answer is NOT to create laws telling people how they can or cannot dress. That's Orwellian.

The answer lies with the parents bringing up their kids right in the first place.

To those of you who support this fashion 'trend':
It isn't admirable to emulate prison inmates. It isn't even fashionable. I don't recall seeing this 'style' in GQ magazine, I don't recall seeing this 'style' worn by the actors on the Sopranos or in movies like, Casino, Good Fellas, or any other mobster movies.
Real life organized crime figures have money. They wear nice clothes that fit. They wear expensive shoes and drive expensive cars. They don't wear clothes that are ten sizes too large and they certainly don't walk around holding their pants up with one hand.
This 'style' or lack of it is only showing the rest of us that these young men have no respect for themselves. They truly believe they are projecting a 'cool' image when in fact, they are not. Some of them don't realize that they are putting themselves in the 'spotlight' for cops. The upside to these baggy pants is that they will be easily captured by the cops when the pants fall down plus, because the pants are so large, they won't have to buy new ones for years to come.
When I see these guys wearing big, droopy pants that hang below their butts, the first thing that comes to my mind is that they are idiots. Clowns. Morons. Imbiciles. Only there for my amusement.
I don't see that they might have some intelligence or talent; I don't see that maybe they are law-abiding, caring, compassionate, good students, hard workers, etc.
All they are doing is saying, "I dress this way because I am preparing myself for prison". It's very evident in the way they walk in these pants. I call it the "Shackle Waddle". Think about it. Next time you see one of these guys trying to walk in these huge pants, watch how they walk. They are wearing invisible shackles on their ankles.
One more thing:
What do you think would happen if girls wore pants past their butts? I don't mean low, I mean just like the guys. Past the ass.
The pants would be sewn onto their underwear so the top of the pants hang just below the cheeks of their butts. What do you think would happen? Would they be fined for indecent exposure? Would they be raped? What would happen?

You've missed the point. I don't see "support" for a fashion trend; I see support for freedom of choice in fashion trend. Go argue about something that might make a difference.

Nothing better to comment upon? Oh well, I guess that's what keeps the MBI from busting Sentinel employees!
